Pulse Wrestling’s Real-Time Smackdown Report 08/15/2008
by Norine Stice on August 15, 2008

Last week someone took out La Familia. Chavo and Vicky Guerrero went to Rated R Superstar Edge for help. Edge agrees to help and much to Vicky’s dismay, it is not The Undertaker who is out to get them. It’s Edge. Edge takes out Chavo with a chair and then corners Vicky. Edge says that he will take Undertaker to hell, he will take the family to hell and he will take Vicky to hell with him.

Smackdown is coming to you live from Norfolk, Virginia

United States Championship Match

Jeff Hardy from Cameron, NC weighing 225 lbs.
Challenger

Vs.

“The Gold Standard” Shelton Benjamin from Orangesburg, SC weighing 248 lbs.

Last week, M.V.P. entered the ring during Hardy’s match and delivered a nasty kick to Hardy’s skull. Hardy will face M.V.P. at Summerslam.

The bell rings and there is a short face off while the audience chants for Hardy. The two men lock up and end up on the corner. Benjamin breaks clean. This time Benjamin comes in with kicks and punches, backing Hardy up in the corner. The referee admonishes Benjamin for using the hair. Benjamin apples a headlock and Hardy’s face is turning red. Benjamin delivers a Samoan drop and goes for the pin but Hardy kicks out at the count of two. Benjamin unloads with fists but Hardy delivers punches from a kneeling position. Benjamin catches Hardy with a high kick and goes for the cover, again getting only a two count. Benjamin looks tired. Benjamin backs Hardy up in the corner and charges across the ring. Hardy gets out of the way but Benjamin manages to stop himself. Hardy delivers a jawbreaker and both men are down on the mat. The ref starts the count and gets to six before Hardy is back to his feet. Hardy backs Benjamin into the corner and tries to send him across the ring. Benjamin gets the switch but Hardy comes off with a whisper in the wind. Hardy goes for the cover but Benjamin kicks out at the count of two. Hardy tries for the twist of fate but Benjamin changes it into a back breaker and gets a two count. Hardy comes off the ropes and the men collide in midair. Both men are again down on the mat. The ref starts the count and gets to eight but Hardy is up on the ring apron. Benjamin comes over the top but Hardy hangs onto the ropes and takes Benjamin to the floor with a hurricanrana. Hardy rolls Benjamin back into the ring. Hardy manages to bring Benjamin down and goes up to the top turnbuckle. MVP appears at the last send and shoves Hardy into the ring. The ref calls for the bell.

Winner: No one said but I think it must have been Hardy via DQ. Approximate match time 12 minutes.

After the match, MVP appears tin the ring and charges for the kick. Hardy gets out of the way and MVP nails Benjamin instead. Hardy delivers a twist of fate and a Swanton bomb to MVP and then delivers a Swanton bomb to Benjamin before rolling out of the ring and heading up the ramp.

Maria and Maryse start the action with a little shoving by Maryse. Another lock up and another shove by Maryse. Maryse tags in Natalya. Maria tries for a hurricanrana but Natalya isn’t having any of that. Maria goes for a cradle but Natalya kicks out. Natalya backs Maria into the wrong corner but Maria nails Maryse with an elbow and makes it to tag in McCool. McCool is all over Natalya. Maryse helps Natalya out of the ring and McCool hits the floor to pound on Maryse. Maryse tries to get involved again but she pays for it. Natalya takes advantage and gets a cover, getting the three count.

Winners: Natalya & Maryse, match time 4 minutes.<b>

JR reminds the audience that Triple H will be in action tonight and we go to commercial
break.

The Brian Kendrick weighing 184 lbs. with Ezekiel

TBK has a mic and with Zeke scowling over his shoulder, he tells the fans how great he is and how he opens up opportunities for others. You realize that no one brings more to the table than he does and Zeke speaks up to tell him he is right. He wrestles for himself and he is the future…The Brian Kendrick

This is Scotty’s WWE debut. Kendrick immediately goes for Goldman’s arm but Goldman switches it around and goes for a cover. After the match, Zeke does what he has been doing lately…taking out the guy who has already been beat.

HHH says that at Summerslam HHH is going to be making a statement. Kenny Dykstra(?) shows up to say that tonight he will be facing HHH in the ring and Dykstra should be who HHH is worried about. HHH says he picked the wrong day and the wrong guy. Commercial break.

The Great Khali with Ranjin Singh is in the ring to tell everyone what he is going to do to HHH at Summerslam. Singh interprets to tell HHH to get out while he can because if he doesn’t, The Great Khali will take out HHH.

The Game Triple H

vs.

Kenny Dykstra

with The Great Khali at ringside.

A minute match and HHH takes Dykstra out with a pedigree<b> then stares down The Great Khali at ringside.

The Big Show, 7′, 440 lbs.

This is Braddock’s debut and he ends up on the floor. Show goes out after him and rolls him back into the ring. Braddock comes off the ropes and gets taken down with a shoulder from Show. MVP is backstage. He grabs the mic from Eve so that he can address Jeff Hardy and tell him what he is going to do to Hardy at Summerslam. MVP says he is better than Hardy. And we go to commercial break.

Vicky is backstage with Victoria. Vicky says she never wants to see Edge again. He did, after all, ruin her life. Vicky says that she should never have come to Smackdown tonight. Victoria says she will help Vicky get out of the building.

The fans see a video of R-Truth who will be coming soon to Smackdown. Festus will face Vladimir Kozlov toinight. Vicky and Victoria are at Vicky’s limo. Vicky tells the driver to open the door but the window rolls down and Edge emerges from the backseat. Vicky is down on the concrete and it appears that Victoria has run off and left Vicky at Edge’s mercy. Edge helps Vicky back into her chair — now would be the time for an electric chair with a turbo charge for Vicky to make a getaway — and Edge pushes her back toward the building. We go to commercial break.

Back from commercial break.

Festus weighing 291 lbs. with Jesse

Vs.

Vladimir Kozlov from Moscow weighing 302 lbs.

This may be the first competition Kozlov has had since he debuted on Smackdown. The bell rings and Festus comes down on Kozlov. A hard right uppercut sends Kozlov to the mat. Back from commercial break, we see a Video ofthe recent history between John Cena and Batista. They will face each other at Summerslam. JR and Tazz discuss the matches coming up at Summerslam. Edge is still escortingi Vicky around the backstage area. Vicky is doing a lot of screaming and Edge tells here that it’s okay. Edge says the ride isn’t over. The ride will end when Edge says it will end and off they go and off we go – to commercial break.

Back from commercial break, we see a video of HBK from Raw and what happened to his eye during his match with Chris Jericho. At Summerslam, HBK is going to let everyone know what his future will be in wrestling.

Edge and Vicky appear and head to the ring. I can’t tell if the fans are booing Vicky or Edge or both. Edge dumps Vicky on teh floor outside the ring and rolls her wheelchair away. Edge grabs a mic and sits on the floor next to her and tells her to calm down. Edge says he wants everyone in the audience to see the good times. Edge puts his arm around Vicky and tells her that they are going to take a little trip down memory lane. The “trip” begins with Edge’s apology and the fact that Vicky not only brought Undertaker back to Smackdown, she made the Edge vs. Undertaker Hell in a Cell match for Summerslam. The trip continues with Edge asking Mick Foley for help to prepare for his upcoming match and Foley turning him down. Edge made Foley pay by beating him down in the ring when he says no. Edge has taken himself to the place he needs to be in order to face Undertaker at Summerslam. Edge tells Vicky to relax and they lay down on the floor. Edge says he wants Vicky to apologize to The Undertaker and to be truly sorry for what she did to The Undertaker. So, Vicky does say she is sorry and Edge tells her she is pathetic. She caused all of this, according to Edge. Edge tells Vicky he is already burning in hell but Edge promises that The Undertaker will burn in hell with him. Edge then tells Undertaker they should do it right now and not wait until Summerslam. Edge tells their vows were for better or worse and it can really apply to Hell in a Cell: Edge vs. Undertaker – till death do us part. The audience is chanting for Undertaker. Will Edge’s worst be bad enough to beat the Dead Man in his own backyard?

That’s it for Smackdown.
