In the October 28 Figure 4 Weekly newsletter, Bryan Alvarez reported that WWE announcers were told to no longer call WWE talent “superstars.” They can’t call them “wrestlers” either, but are now to be called “entertainers.” We’ll see how long this lasts (and as a note, WWE.com still calls them the s-word.
UPDATE: PWInsider.com has written that while WWE “entertainers” are also still “superstars,” they are no longer “sports entertainers.”
In other news, Vince McMahon will now be called Mr. Goliath Titan the magnificent and has been diagnosed as bat-shit insane.
This new rule makes sense, as there is no reason at all to call Mike Knox, Snitsky, or Festus any sort of a superstar…
