It’s brilliant when TNA fans only ever defend TNA’s product by criticising something in WWE.

Also, if none of the faces were booked to look bad then how come Joe got pinned by a low-blow from Nash when Angle got kicked in the balls AND hit with a chair by Abyss but still kicked out? And is Joe even a face if half the crowd boos him? And is Angle even a heel if half the crowd cheers him??

This whole thing is crazy.

Sting/AJ was weak? Man I would love to see that HHH/Kozlov match even touch that match or even your lovable Cena and his 4 moves even last in that match. Joe/Nash had a lot of intensity and the payoff was nash pretty much having to do everything to cheat and win to beat Joe who wouldn’t let up yeah what a weak performance.

to the morons ripping this show I’m not shocked anymore with this site. A show being praised by everyone else is being ripped by freaking Aaron Glazer again. Pathetic Aaron? No thats how you build up a big feud none of the faces were booked to look bad and put on some great matches. The booking continues the feuds that shouldn’t have been over already. Why don’t the one crying about it go watch your precious WWE its become a laughingstock to everyone else.

The point of heels winning every match at the start of a feud is to set the odds against the faces. This worked for Evolution because it helped establish Batista and Orton. For TNA, given who’s involved, the issue isn’t making the heels seem dominant. History has accomplished that more effectively thaan sweeping a PPV ever could. TNA, as usual, misjudgedthe situation. The faces need credibility far more than the heels need more build.

I actually caught part of this ppv — I know, I never watch TNA ppvs. I could not get into the Nash vs. Joe match no matter how hard I tried. I missed the first match, like the Beer Money vs. MMG mostly because MMG was in the ring, didn’t like the ending of the Abyss vs. Angle match, and cheered on AJ during the main event.

I wonder what Eric Young can really do in the ring and if TNA will allow him to show it.

I still would not have purchsed the ppv…too much money for what I saw.

There’s not that much wrong with the booking on this particular show. When starting a long-term angle with a heel group dominating the promotion, it makes sense to have them win everything at the beginning and build towards the faces getting the upper hand. Of course, they have done a horrible job of making the MEM into actual heels and so they wind up getting more cheers than the other lot (do they even have a group name yet?) but in terms of Turning Point itself – fine. I would have changed the Joe/Nash match though and had Nash win only by DQ after Joe went crazy and ate his leg or something.

This was the same as Evolution sweeping all their matches on PPV, including grudge matches. I’m intrigued to continue watching to see what happens with the build.

I’ll be amazed most likely. It seems as Russo has no booking power, otherwise there’d be crap thrown into the PPV.

This really seems insulting to me in the booking department. A clean sweep by your MEM just makes the TNA Originals seem incredibly weak, and especially makes Eric Young’s promo redundant after seeing the end result. That stable certainly dind’t need to win every match, the main title ones would have served as key victories, but the non-title grudge matches could’ve have served as wins for the TNA group and would have at least given them some credibility in this ongoing storyline. If Heyman’s threatening a return to wrestling, send him over to TNA stat and shove Russo to the curb.

I think the MEM sweeping out the PPV was key, however the Joe/Nash and Sting/AJ matches were very weak. Tag Titles could be MOTY candidate, and Angle/Abyss was amazing…seeing as we all expect Angle to die in the ring at any given point.

Some of the other sites are giving this much props. From reading, it reminds me of when Evolution got the sweep for one PPV. The follow up will definitely be key. I almost wished I ordered this. I might order the replay, but I haven’t decided.
