Hope everyone has a great Christmas, or if you don’t celebrate, a great Holiday. I regret that this week’s column will be short due to Christmas and me catching a cold. Never fear, I’m bound to find something to report on.

TNA Spin Cycle

When you have Sheik Abdul Bashir throwing shoes at TMZ’s Harvey Levin on the Spin Cycle, it’s worth the top slot on this column. Combine that with Mick Foley wanting the three disc set of Braden Walker’s greatest matches. Just watch the video as I promise you that it’s worth watching.

Exclusive Web Matches

Courtesy of TNA’s syndicated Xplosion show, each week, TNA will post a weekly web match for their online viewers. You can view the first match here.

TNA One Liners

Mick Foley appeared on the Pain Clinic Radio Show talking about wrestling for TNA among other hot topics.

Samoa Joe and his wife are proud parents of a baby boy.

Frankie Kazarian and Tracy Brooks are now engaged.

Vince Russo wanted Al Snow and Mick Foley to feud.

Jeff Jarrett wasn’t interested in going back to the 90’s, so that feud was nixed.

Somewhere, three TNA fans cried because Vince Russo didn’t get his way.

Nathan Jones and Brutus Mangus are expected to start with TNA soon.

Ratings News

Last week’s iMPACT scored a 1.0 cable rating, which was lower than my expectations. It’s a shame since the show was decently good last week. This week, I expect TNA to hold at 1.0 or drop as low as a .7 since it is Christmas. TNA did hold their ratings during Thanksgiving, but Christmas is a different story.

Last Week’s iMPACT Results

Rhino gored Lance Rock into next week.
Chris Sabin Cradle Shocked Sonjay Dutt. Not even So Cal Val could have saved him.
Sharmell won an Academy Award for Best Feigning of an Injury as Scott Steiner & Booker T took care of Abyss & Matt Morgan.
Kyoshi surprised everyone by beating Consequences Creed.
Christy Hemme & ODB Firecrotched their way to victory. Comedy ensues as Suicide freaks out Awesome Kong.
AJ Styles escaped the Six Sides of Steel to score the win for him and Samoa Joe over Sting & Kevin Nash.
Sadly, Samoa Joe was massacred by the Main Event Mafia.

iMPACT Tonight

Chris Sabin takes on Kyoshi.
AJ Styles & Brother Devon take on Scott Steiner & Booker T
ODB, Taylor Wilde, Christy Hemme, & Roxxi take on Awesome Kong, Sojourner Bolt, Raisha Saeed, & Rhaka Khan
Rhino takes on Kurt Angle

Around Pulse Wrestling

Mark Allen looks back at this week in Entertainment.
Bambi Weavil was stratus-fied with this week’s RAW.
John Wiswell does the unthinkable by reviewing the top 100 matches of 2008 from the entire wrestling front. This is the first installment.

Around Inside Pulse

Russ Blatt would make a great MLB Commissioner.
Gary Scherl looks at the Gold Standard on Comics Nexus.
And finally, check up on some reading in the reader forums.

Until Next Time

Enjoy what is left of the Christmas holiday and don’t forget to watch iMPACT tonight. Have a great weekend and I’ll be back for some more TNA news to start 2009 with. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

  1. I thought for a second I was reading a comedy review. Great job, Mr. Marshall and working on a major Holiday, too!
