No, America is fine. We just don't want MORE content from untalented people who think "phooey" is cool.

What I really found curious about this set is that it was only 2 discs. For the son-in-law/future owner of the WWE? I'm guessing a 5 disc retrospective is on its way once he hangs it up. The match selection is all over the place here - I guess in an attempt to not duplicate from other DVDS. We only get one match of his in 2000? Weird.

lmfao @ It’s as if they clicked on the link, saw the length of the review and their day was ruined because they were now trapped on their computer, forced to read it, unable to pry their fat ass off the chair or use the ‘back’ button. Well phooey on them.

I could listen to you rant like that for 8 pages because that shit was funny.

On an unrelated note... I kind of botched this review as I forgot to mention that this is one of about a half-dozen WWE DVDs they have on sale at Wal Mart for $13.00

The selection is excellent for the WWE DVD sets. They have Mick Foley's set, with the 2006 comeback disc included.

They also have...

-The Undertaker's set
-Bret Hart's set
-John Cena's set (the 5 Questions Disc is worth the price of it)
-Greatest Stars of the 80s
-Steve Austin's set
-The Rock's set

At $13.00, you can't really go wrong with some of these sets. And I'll try to get reviews of them up between my ongoing review of Savage's DVD.

A great point that I think encapsulates the deal with Triple H <i>perfectly</i>, can be found on www.jimcornette.com - currently in the Ask JC section, in answer to the question: <b>"Who is the most overrated wrestler of the past, and today?</b>

<b>Cornette answers:</b> The whole idea of promoting wrestling is to make the fans think a wrestler is better than he is, so to me, overrated is not the term. OverPUSHED is a different story. Who has been pushed on a major league basis way more than their talent or attitude should have dictated?...For the present, let's go with Hunter Hearst Helmsley-McMahon. Actually, he's a very good worker and studies the business. His promos are usually as exciting as a coma and last longer than this recession, but he has good matches. Problem is, <b>as hard as he's been crammed down people's throats for the past 10 years, he should have surpassed Hogan, Austin, and Rock, but HHH is what is called in the business "the guy that works with the guy that draws money."</b>

He should be in there to have a good match and put the star over. Actually, he should have been fired in 1996 when he shit on the entire sport with the infamous "curtain call" at MSG, but Vince, the guy with "balls of steel", let HHH piss in his face and not only didn't do anything about it, but let him marry his daughter! And a sledgehammer? Jesus Christ, I wish he'd hit me in the head with it before he starts talking on TV. HHH will be the top guy in the WWE until he looks like Dick the Bruiser in his final days working an Indiana county fair show, and if THAT'S not overrated, I don't know what is.

I have been saying that about Triple H for years - I think for a lot of people, that's where the source of the hatred comes from. Maybe it's not so much real hatred, as it is frustration at being forced to suffer a central character on a program, that they have no interest in seeing <i>as</i> the central character. But that's just how I see it.

Can't wait for the Savage review!

The Jericho match I guess is not really considered 'classic' by WWE cannon. Which is funny because apparently Undertaker/Yokozuna from the Royal Rumble is considered one of the best matches of all time by those in the company. I'm really not joking about that. It's considered epic.

As for a Chris Jericho DVD, I have a long standing bet with a guy named Texas Kelly that if a Jericho DVD is announced and it is free of any Chris Benoit matches, he has to buy it for me. Likewise, I have to buy his copy if it's got a single Benoit match on it. I'm not sure what the holdup is. I mean, we've gotten a fricken KANE set, but not a Jericho one?

Another thing we can hold out for is hoping Kurt Angle goes back to the WWE so we can get a DVD set of him.

By the by, the Randy Savage review is coming very soon. Oooh yeah, dig it.

Skipping over all flame bait Charlie laid out and on to the match selection:

I've never understood why they haven't put the Jericho LMS match on any DVDs. Maybe they're waiting for a Jericho DVD that's absurdly long in coming, now that I think of it. I get the lack of the Rock Iron Match on either of their DVDs, since it's an hour and everything, and I found his match with Goldberg at Unforgiven pretty damn dull the only time I watched it.

I would have loved for that match he had with Taka Michinoku in 2000 to have made it on there, too, just because he made it look like Taka was going to beat him for the WWF Championship. No matter what you think of Triple H now (I tend to lean more toward Charlie than people who hate him, really), you don't see him doing that kind of thing anymore.

Okay I should clarify. The first two paragraphs get an Amen. After that it went all downhill. HHH may have helped in the process of getting Orton over, but he went over Benoit and HHH proceeded to squash Orton like a fly. I don't know what superstars HHH creates because he's usually ruining a returning wrestler or disappearing and coming back to take the heat off of anyone with it. You don't need a World Title to crush everyone in the company. What is his longest losing streak like two months? And during that whole time period he's running around Raw or Smackdown! being invincible. Sorry that isn't even a "smark" comment. You don't have to know about the politics of wrestling to see every week and want to throw up.

Saying people hate the H just because they are smart fans is just a cop out. He just...sucks. Its old.
