10 Thoughts on TNA iMPACT! – 6.25.09
By Jon Bandit - June 25, 2009 | Email the author

1. Kurt Angle with hair and a beard is kind of freaking me out.
2. I went six-for-eight in my Slammiversary predictions, picking Raven & Daffney and Alex Shelley, which turned out to be false. Why do they keep carrying on with Suicide?
3. I love how Jim Cornette condemns hardcore wrestling as he cashes his check from a company that ran a Women’s 10,000 Thumbtack match on free TV.
4. I like how Kurt Angle explained the actions of the Main Event Mafia in getting Joe to join their side. Everyone “taking a bullet for the family” was cool. At least they gave Jenna Morasca a purpose. I don’t think I like Joe in the group yet, but I’ll give it a shot.
5. I’m not sure how Kurt Angle gets to pick his own opponent though. How many people in TNA get to book matches for crying out loud?
6. Similarly, why did Mick Foley agree to give Scott Steiner & Booker T a shot at the Tag Team Titles?
7. Are they ever going to pay off Abyss versus Dr. Stevie? TNA has been paying Richards for months and he hasn’t even wrestled a match.
8. I’ve learned that next week Jeff Jarrett will team with AJ Styles to battle Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe, the winner will become the TNA Champion. Way to put your singles title on the line in a tag team match. Again.
9. Oh, I just remembered I haven’t addressed the scathing blog that Tara wrote in response to some admittedly cruel rumors about her. While I sympathize with her, and don’t care if it’s true or not, her response bordered on childish. Insinuating that the WWE was somehow behind it was so juvenile and pathetic it removed any sympathy I had for her. You should have left this one alone.
10. Eric Young looks like he might finally make something work.

Comments
  1. Re: 10 – It’s just a shame he’s being pushed as a heel for some reason. Surely after all the stuff on air, he’s got a lot of justification for being aggrieved (compare his simple heelish acts with what he was made to do before.) This being wrestling, he’s decided to get himself over and pushed on his own terms. If he’d been pushed as a face then they’d have the Mafia-potential thing in the background, which would actually give a good, solid, logical angle-based reason for him being near the top of the card with felxibility to end up as either a face or heel.

    Or summat.

  2. And I must admit, to me, iMPACT is a lot better then RAW.. Smackdown is still ‘The Show’
