Sacha Baron Cohen, Elijah Burke News

According to Digitalspy.com, John Cena is good friends with Sacha Baron Cohen – a.k.a. Ali G, Borat and Bruno. Cohen is a fan of professional wrestling and his new movie, Bruno, got numerous commercial spots during Raw this past week. Bruno vs Santino Marella, no?

Not to be outdone by Edge or Matt Hardy, Elijah Burke underwent surgery on Monday according to his Twitter page. “Minor surgery. I’m kinda out of it right now. Not sure, but Elijah Burke may be finished for right now.” Burke apparently suffered this injury after falling down a flight of stairs.

It’s a shame about Elijah Burke. I always thought he was at least on par with Shelton Benjamin and Kofi Kingston in terms of raw athleticism and his ability to do moves that no one else could – his Outer Limitz Elbow drop is quite possibly the best finisher ever in a Smackdown vs. Raw game.

Interesting to hear Sacha baron Cohen is friends with John Cena.

In hindsight, it seems very possible SBC is a big wrestling fan in general, particularly when you consider he has ‘wrestling’ scenes in both his Borat and Bruno movies (disturbing wrestling scenes. lol).

We’ve done some checking around and it seems his Borat character has popped up at least a couple of times since SBC ‘retired’ him, so perhaps there’s another strange wrestling scene in his future. (linked our ENN name here to a video about that Borat return possibility).

Related to that possibility is that Ashton Kutcher – also a wrestling fan – announced he was canceling his show “Punk’d” as a way to make it easier to continue pranking celebrities lulled into a false sense of security… only to appear on a new year of Punk’d episodes. :)
