10 Thoughts on SmackDown – 14.07.09
by Dale Clarke on August 21, 2009

1. With the CM Punk/ Jeff Hardy feud hopefully coming to an end soon (I’ve loved the feud, but there is only so many times I can watch the same two guys going at it) I’m really hoping John Morrison can step up to the plate tonight once again.

2. The Jeff Hardy/ Hart Dynasty match makes a lot of sense, but is supremely awesome because it puts the Hart Dynasty in the main event!

3. Another win for Dolph Ziggler. I’m really hoping that the WWE booking team have some sense and put the Intercontinental title on him at Summerslam.

4. Whats this!? Mike Knox actually has a personality! And it’s a really creepy one at that.

5. And there’s the downpoint of SmackDown. There’s always one segment that makes me question the SmackDown writing teams judgment, sadly tonight we got three in a row. I don’t care about Kane having Singh, or about an R-Truth video, or about Layla.

6. CM Punk and John Morrison once again put on a fine match, hopefully Morrison can take Hardy’s place as the top face if he does indeed leave the company.

7. Melina beats Layla. Thats about as much interest I could garner for this match.

8. Anyone else notice how the announce team improved a lot when Chris Jericho was with them?

9. This is one time I’m not bored by the RAW video package. Shawn Michaels can randomly superkick as many people as he wants and it will never get old.

10. Good main event, with an even better post match segment. I’m still not sure on the Matt Hardy face turn, since he was working well as a heel, but if it leads to a push then I will not complain.

I would agree, but Mysterio just won it back. It’s reached the point where the title changes hands everytime two guys feud over it. It might be good for them to finally take a stand and keep it on Mysterio for a while. If it can’t be Mysterio, then I at least hope Ziggler gets a long reign and doesn’t drop it to his next rival (probably Morrison). Remember how many guys Orton got to defend against? That’s what the title needs right now.
