Dragon Gate USA News Update on Championship Scene
By Bones Barkley - October 8, 2009 | Email the author

BxB Hulk has been added to the Open The Freedom Gate Title tournament on November 28th at The Arena in Philadelphia. Hulk was the best available choice from Japan. Second row Golden Circle seats are selling fast. This package comes with the “Independent Tour De Force Vol. 1″ DVD as well as early admission to the bonus match with Eddie Kingston and meet & greet. You can order now in the DGUSA.tv Store or by calling 267-519-9744.

BxB Hulk is taking Dragon Kid’s spot in the 11/28 tournament. If you saw the footage at www.YouTube.com/DGUSAdotTV you know why Dragon Kid is no longer in the tourney. However, DGUSA officials have determined that this is not fair to Dragon Kid, who currently has one of the best records in DGUSA. As a result, Dragon Kid has been awarded the first title match. Whoever wins the belt in Philly will have to make his first Open The Freedom Gate Championship defense against Dragon Kid on January 23rd in Chicago. Tickets are now on sale in the DGUSA.tv Store or by calling 267-519-9744, including a very limited amount of 1st & 2nd row stage tickets. These seats practically put you in the ring. Just for clarification, the new 11/28 tag team main event of Dragon Kid & Shingo vs. Masato Yoshino & Naruki Doi has no other bearing on the tournament. Shingo and Yoshino, despite their obvious skill and strong performances, were not in consideration due to their records. Naruki Doi was not available since he is focused on his reign as the Open The Dream Gate Champion. Dragon Kid will get his shot at the gold in Chi-town.

Kevin Harvey has been promoted to permanent DGUSA live event host. Congrats and keep up the good work, Kevin!

The rivalry heated up between Dragon Kid and Masato Yoshino at the last event in Chicago. When we were going through tapes shot by the Japanese media last week looking for b-roll footage for the “Untouchable” pay-per-view (Nov. 6th premiere), we found video of a locker room altercation. It also reveals a main event match that has now been signed for 11/28 in Philadelphia. As a result of what transpired, Dragon Kid will not be in the tournament. We are currently going over the Dragon Gate roster to pick a replacement, who we will announce right here later this week. You can watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErABLFpgEck

Eddie Kingston will be in the bonus match on 11/28 in Philly for Golden Circle and VIP balcony ticket holders. We will announce his opponent once we figure out who is in the tournament. The only way to see this bout now is to purchase 2nd or 3rd row seats. Tickets are available in the DGUSA.tv Store or by calling 267-519-9744. Make sure to check the 11/28 Live Events page to see the ticket packages.

Hybrid Wrestling will provide a match for the “Independent Tour De Force Vol. 1″ DVD, which will be given as a free gift to our patrons who purchase 1st or 2nd row Golden Circle or Stage tickets to the 11/28 Philly and 1/23 Chicago events. This DVD will never be put on sale and will only be available to those ticket holders. It is our way of thanking our premium ticket holders. 2nd row for 11/28 is about 50% sold out and once these tickets are gone there will be no way to get this DVD in Philadelphia. We will release more details on this must have DVD later this week including a match listing.
