10 Thoughts on TNA Impact – 11/05/09

10. Hogan to TNA. It’s either going to be amazing or destroy the company. I honestly hope it does only good things for TNA because it’d be a shame to see them go under. Least Hogan is throwing out the company name a lot at the moment. Good exposure.

9. Dixie speaking to the roster was pretty amusing. It’s always fun to hear a boss give a “put up or shut up” speech. I just couldn’t believe that the roster all kept basically deadpan faces.

8. If Styles, Daniels & Joe go at Turning Point like they did at Unbreakable, they’ll be up for MOTY. But no matter what they do there, at least TNA is giving them a chance to shine.

7. I agree, the sweatpants on the World Elite are hysterically bad. I’m not hugely into fashion, but I can easily bet that those suits are a fashion DON’T.

6. On the topic of people who destroy the rules of fashion. Lets welcome The Beautiful People. And lets focus on Madison this week, because it is never okay to wear lace like that. Never. Lets hope she maybe goes out and burns that outfit, because shes burning eyeballs by wearing it.

5. TNA cannot get any more blatant with the ripoff that Jay Lethal is doing. Pretending to be Randy Savage to the point that he talks about the “mega powers”. Hmm, did someone at TNA watch the episode of WWE Vintage Collection that aired last week? That featured the “mega powers”. Clever people.

4. Desmond Wolfe doesn’t need to squash other wrestlers. He can kick it with the main eventers no problems. Though, if he had to use a useless talent to make a point, it’s probably good that he used Deaner. It’s not like Deaner has much left to lose.

3. If they ever unmask Suicide on TV it’ll be a dammed shame.

2. Samoa Joe, daring male. Purple gloves on TV incase of blood. Did they run out of regular colored gloves? Interesting statement.

1. It is starting to feel like we’re seeing more security guards on Impact than we’re seeing wrestlers these days.

  1. Jay Lethal’s Black Machismo gimmick has always been a direct take-off on Randy Savage. Did you just start watching TNA? Because he’s been doing the same shtick for like two years now.

I also think Wolfe needs a few squash matches to fully establish his lariats as deadly. Killing Angle was good but it could look like a fluke. If he kills a bunch of guys dead with them then his lariats look like legit match enders. And killing Deaner is never a bad thing.

  2. That lariat on Deaner was the best thing I’ve seen on a TNA show for…well…maybe years.

  3. i think the jay lethal comment didnt come out as i wanted it to. i was more entertained about the fact that Vintage Collection had the survivor series match with the “mega powers” on last week’s episode. just felt like they’d been watching the WWE product to come up with lethals latest promo.
oh, and i only discovered TNA at the start of this year. so i’m not 100% on the history of the product, but i’ve tried to look into their past to better understand things.

  4. I doubt it had much to do with the latest WWE Vintage show. Lethal took on the character of Macho Man. Hulk Hogan is coming to TNA. Hulk Hogan and Macho Man were the Mega Powers. I mean, the guy refers to the Motor City Machine Guns as the Rockers. Its all in the gimmick.

  5. I’m surprised he hasn’t called the British Invasion “The British Bulldogs”, or Hernandez as “Tito Santana” or whatever.
