ROH News – Kevin Steen update, more Final Battle weekend matches, Kingston vs. Hero, and more
By Ricardo Rochetti - December 2, 2009 | Email the author

The following news items were posted on the December 1st edition of the ROH Newswire:

Young Bucks vs. Kevin Steen & El Generico has been added to Final Battle 2009 (December 19th, New York City). Remember, this PPV will be streamed live via iPPV. The cost is $14.95, but is available for $12.95 to those who order before the show’s date. For further details and to order the show, check GoFightLive.tv.

Despite his knee issues, which multiple doctors have stated will require “serious and extensive corrective action”, Kevin Steen will be on hand not only for Final Battle 2009, but for the previous night’s show in Manassas, VA as well. Steen will be addressing the crowd following his Final Battle match. Click here for more details on Steen’s meeting with ROH officials yesterday.

ROH has also scheduled two matches for Final Battle weekend that will likely have an impact on Pick 6 standings: In Manassas, Kenny Omega, currently #5 on the standings, will take on Rhett Titus. The next night at Final Battle, Roderick Strong, the current #3, will wrestle Kenny King. Note that Omega’s and Strong’s rankings at the time of Final Battle weekend are subject to their match against each other this coming Saturday in Chicago.

It appears that the feud between Eddie Kingston and Chris Hero is not over yet. Last week, ROH posted a video from Kingston, where he states, in an emotional interview, that he wants another shot at Hero. This week, ROH posted Hero’s reply. ROH officials will issue a statement on the Hero/Kingston issue next week.

The Wire has reported that, based on the outcome of last night’s match non-title match between Austin Aries and Colt Cabana, as well as the words traded between the two last week (where Cabana vowed to reverse the “Billy Goat’s Curse,” and Aries called Cabana a “Lovable Chicago Loser”), Cabana has requested an “amendment” to their title match this Saturday. ROH will issue an announcement regarding this amendment later in the week.
