WWE Raw Notes on Bret, Vince, Sheamus & Cena
by Iain Burnside - February 8, 2010 | Email the author

The segment between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon on WWE Raw last week was not scripted. Both parties came up with their own material and aimed to make it seem as ‘real’ as possible without discussing much of the verbiage ahead of time. The spot with Vince saying that Stu Hart did not deserve to go into the Hall of Fame was the only pre-planned part. This was the go-home moment that Vince would deliver so that Bret would know when to react and start unloading with punches.

The dark match between Sheamus and John Cena, which ended with Batista running in to attack Cena and powerbomb him on the ring steps, led to Cena directing Sheamus in the aftermath. Sheamus was standing over the fallen Cena with the title belt but it was evident to the live crowd sitting nearby that Cena instructed Sheamus, telling him “Put the fucking mic down, start to pick me up and drag me to the middle of the ring… OK, stand above me and hold the belt in the air… Go around the ring when you’re facing the announcers both with the belt in the air, I am going to get up and FU you.” This then led to Cena recovering and giving Sheamus the Attitude Adjustment to send the crowd home happy.

Remind me again why Sheamus is the champion?

Because that is the only way anyone over the age of 12 will cheer for John Cena

It really doesen’t matter when both of these guys are one trick ponies. Bring on someone who can actually wrestle

DON’T YOU GET YOUR WRESTLING IN MY SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT, SIR.

It’s always hilarious to hear people who grew up on Hulk Hogan or Sting criticize WWE, Vince, or Cena for aiming their product towards children. Nobody just picks up on wrestling when they’re 18 and oh-so-clever’n'snarky. Well, not after the Attitude Era, anyway. Kids need heroes too, so relax.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; Cena CAN wrestle, he’s told NOT to get too technical because Vince stupidly feels it goes against Cena’s (now horribly watered down for TV-PG) character. Lest we forget the snarks who piss on John Cena now were cumming on themselves over the talent and skill of a guy in OVW called The Prototype. The more popular Cena got, the more Vince made him scale back the variety of his mat work and tone down his scathing promo work. Hate Vince for ruining Cena, not Cena for doing what THE MAN WHO PAYS HIS SALARY ORDERS HIM TO DO.

I agree with PURRRPLE ; John Cena is only doiing , acting, and saying what Vince and Stephanie McMahon TELL him and SCRIPT him to do ….. xcept when dumb a** Sheamus had a few minutes of brain shut down and forgot to do ..then; John saved the day !!

Love him OR hate him; John Cena draws the Cheers OR Boos AND sell Merchandise … all of that = $$$$ for the WWE.

See, even Cena can’t bring himself to call it attitude adjustment
