The Top 10 Worst Wrestlers List Update
by GRUT on March 30, 2010

March 29, 2010. Using a highly scientific method members of the staff at InsidePulse have compiled a list of the 10 worst wrestlers at the moment. We do not grade simply by technical skill. We include promo ability, dullness, unwatchableness, stupid crappiness among other factors and made up words. All complaints about the list should be put at the bottom of the page, where they will be figured into next week’s list. Your opinion is very important in regards to this highly scientific list. If a person was on the list the previous week, their previous number will be in parenthesis. If I don’t have anything to add about why a person is terrible, I’ll use the previous week’s quote.

Leaving the List this Week

Vladimir Kozlov: He’s pretty terrible, but he’s basically invisible right now.

Edge: Outstanding Wrestlemania match. He’s not a good face, but he was never long for this list.

Matt Hardy: The biggest jump of the week, a strong showing in the Money in the Bank match moves Matt Hardy from 2 to off the list! Still orange, fat, forever stuck in the midcard and charismaless, his huge bumps last night showed why we love the big goof. He’ll be back on the list in no time!

The Nasty Boys: Fired from TNA, they’ll never be able to claim the number one spot they so obviously deserved.

Honorable Mention

Eric Young: Mediocre in the ring? Check. Pushed down our throats? Check. In the main event of Impact!? Check. But it can always be worse (see below).

The List!

TIE! 10. Bret Hart and Vince McMahon: I know this isn’t fair, and I know neither of them are wrestlers, but I was literally cringing at their “match” in front of over 70,000 people. Also, I had trouble coming up with a fifth WWE wrestler to be on this list and didn’t want to make it unbalanced just yet.

9. Rob Terry: Uncoordinated, overly muscular, and squashing people with actual talent. He holds a meaningless title belt but a title belt nevertheless. He hit a nifty little spin kick the other week and that’s why he wasn’t on the first list, but if he’s going to suck this bad and be featured so much I have no choice but to put him on the list.

8. Cody Rhodes: They should have kept Manu and gotten rid of Cody Rhodes. He is the definition of bland and uninteresting. I’m trying to think about him as a wrestler and nothing positive is popping up. You can blame WWE creative for failing to get Ted and Cody over, but I think it has more to do with Cody being amongst the worst to ever get a push like that. They put him over DX and he did nothing with it! Stupid Cody.

7. Shannon Moore (6): Congrats Shannon Moore! Thanks to others sucking so badly you move down a place on the list. You’re still terrible, and you using Brian Kendrick to get your heat back is like Kevin Thorn using the Undertaker.

6. Michelle McCool (4): Michelle McCool is just awful. Really, really bad. Layla is better. Tiffany is better. Anyone is better. Yet, she is the go to champion. Vicki Guerrero at least has charisma.

5. Scott Hall (10): Scott Hall, you’re not listening! You’re supposed to be playing the manager type role, not wrestling main event cage matches. I mean, come on man! You literally have my body. I don’t even wanna take my shirt off at the pool till I lose some weight. You should not be wrestling on Impact for dozens of people like that.

4. Ken Anderson (3): You know what? Moments of brilliance do not justify the fetid, foul reign of Mr. Anderson. Between the embarrassingly bad main event matches and the sleep inducing promos punctuated by the enjoyable saying of his name, Ken Anderson continues to be the biggest overhyped failure in professional wrestling.

3. Matt Striker: Matt Striker came so close to ruining Wrestlemania. I cursed him out about five times during the show. I don’t know if he has to say what he says, if he’s never again allowed to delve into the past for inspiration, if he are only allowed to speak in confused cliches, but he has to stop. Matt Striker went very quickly from my favorite announcer including Jim Ross to the new Tony Schiavone. The WWE loves ruining their announcers, and they’ve done it again with Matt Striker. All the commentary from Wrestlemania was brutal, but Matt was in his own terrible league.

2. Drew McIntyre (5): In a prime spot, booked as the main heel in the Money in the Bank match, Drew McIntyre did nothing. I think he fell off a ladder and got crotched. Wow. Weird look, bad promos, and his wrestling is actually pretty lousy. He just couldn’t take the moment and make it his. Sad.

1. Matt Morgan (1): The very worst. He can either overact or underact. His move set is boring. His interview skills are abysmal. Every time he is on the television I want to change the channel. He is also pushed to the moon. He is the worst. I’m not sure there will be anyone who tops him as long as he is around.

8: but.. but cody wears the Triforce Emblem on his boots. doesn’t that count for anything?

    3. Thank God I was in a noisy sports bar and couldn’t hear the commentary!

  • dan

matt hardy is always every year gonna be his year, he will not die, boring,, al he si good for is talking and bragging about all the women he gets
he is boring as hell, fat and has no meaning in the wwe, go join your brother in tna

  • Torin

I felt you were way too harsh on Cody. I think he’s the better wrestler and mic worker than his partner Ted DiBiase Jr. In fact the only think DiBiase beats him out on his look as he looks like a main eventer, but doesn’t have much else.

Seriously why Cody and not Ted? To me Cody is at least entertaining and can get a reaction out of the crowd better than Ted can, but yet Ted is the one getting the push.

  • GRUT

Huh. I thought Ted was the better one. I didn’t realize there was so much Cody love out there. Well, they’re both jobbers who suck.

  • Perspective

I was sure Orlando Jordan as going to be on this list. He’s making my brain hurt.

  • Walter Kovacs

I wouldn’t so much call it “Cody love” as a lot of people disagreeing on who is the worst of two worsts between Ted and Cody.

  • sebasitan

Grut, you have the body of Scott Hall?

  • owangotang

I’m glad to see at least one of the two Legacy tards made this update, but I have to say that Ted should have been on there. Maybe he’s some ridiculously talented worker and we just have not seen it yet, but I doubt it.

Also, I wouldn’t have objected to seeing Rey Mysterio Jr on here. Yes I know he can “go”, blah blah blah, but he’s had the same match for the last 5 years or so. He’s someone who would really benefit from being on a more part time schedule, his act gets weary.

  • Grut

It’s not pretty sebastitan. I gotta lose some weight.

  • Danny Cox

5.) You should not be wrestling on Impact for dozens of people like that.

This…this was so funny that I peed a little.

  • damufine

I like Cody’s potiential. He’s clearly the better wrestler between him and Ted. I’d also say that allowed to do his own thing would be a swarmy heel in time. I’m not sure his lisp is even real. I think he’s doing it as a put on. He’s smaller and that hurts him and often causes him to seem like a follower but he’s much better in the ring than Teddy. He can become better. I used to hate the Miz but now he’s gotten ten thousand times better so I have alot of hope for Cody.

Another column, another lack of DogApeandMan…

This does not bode well for Lance Storm.

  • Matt

I agree with some of this such as nasty boys, vlad, rob Terry, Cody. I disagree however with Matt Morgan and Ken Anderson. Both are two o my favorite wrestlers to watch. Morgan has one of the best phyiques of all time. N I personally like his moveset and most of his promos. Anderson is one of my favorites. He is extremely entetaining, n cuts te best promos I’ve seen since the attitude era. His Matches r mediocre..agree with that. But I always look forward to his promos. When he was out of action, he also did some very entertaining skits online. he’s def got talent to entertain.

  • BattleBowl 92

Ken Anderson became boring, bland, and self-important as soon as people in the WWE (and Austin himself) started telling him how great he was… he’s his own biggest fan

  • chucky

Why the hell is Mizanin not on your list? That useless sack should be the #1 worst in the world until he retires. He isn’t awesome, he blows dog.

  • Topher

Wow, this list is horrible. Just the fact that Edge, one of the greatest of all time, was on the list at any point proves that, but anyone who trash talks about Matt Hardy being fat. I’d like to see how you would look after your intestines tear through your abdomen and you can’t workout your core for months.

As to EY. Mediocre in the Ring? Pushed down our throats? I think you mean Abyss.

    (8) Cody is good on the mic and has on old school style. Not the best, but he shouldn’t be anywhere near this list.

    (7) Both of Shannon Moore’s matches since going back to TNA have pretty good. Is he the best X-Division wrestler, not even close, but he’s still a decent wrestler.

    (6) The problems not with Michelle McCool, but the whole women’s division in the WWE. Granted she has an unbelievably annoying voice, but she’s actually a very good wrestler when they actually let her wrestle.

    (5) I don’t really have a problem with Scott Hall being on this list, but your reasoning is just idiotic. He hasn’t been in such good shape since about 1998.

    (2) Drew McIntyre can go and he’s good on the mic. He hasn’t really shown his wrestling ability in the WWE, but go back and watch some of his matches in FCW

  • leandar

Because of his stroke, I don’t think it’s fair to lob Bret Hart into this list. Sure the match at Wrestlemania wasn’t very good, but going into it, if there was anyone thinking about it, they’d realize after that stroke that this was not likely going to be that good. Heck, Bret himself said that the match likely wouldn’t be good and apologized for it ahead of time. All that match was designed for was to give Bret some closure for Montreal and make Montreal no longer be his last match in WWE and the WCW match with Goldberg where he got the horrible concussion that started this whole situation with his health be his last match ever, period. It did that all quite well.

  • k,k

I think your full of shit! edge is awesome, matt is talented he’s just not show cased right in wwe he’s made out as a joke, also cody could be better but wwe creative is too focused on john cena and all the top guys taking breaks since wrestlemania over w/ a little work cody could be good if he got a push almost changes to a rko and edge(heel) personality, but i think ted needs to turn face and step out of his dads shadow.

But your totally right about michelle she annoying and just not talented, they need to bring back lita or trish to repair the damage of what the divas have created these days…between hottub matches and baywatch bullshit EVERY DIVA is a joke!

  • k,k

why isnt david otunga on this list he is such a douche!
he only made it to wwe cuz he’s w/ some famous chick!

  • sebasitan

Grut, can you do wrestling tales again, I think those were awsome and miss you doing them.

  • Christine

Ken Anderson at least has a personality and gets a rise out of the audience. Matt Morgan at least tries and sometimes succeeds in getting people to care about him. I wouldn’t put either of them up that high. Eric Young is also not bad. He’s got great cocky heel facial expressions, and I think he’s a pretty decent talker as well. Overrated does not = worst. Horrible wrestling = worst.

I would say the most painful people for me to watch in TNA are:
    1. Rob Terry (Everything he does looks sloppy and like it missed/had no effect, but he is being pushed as a wrecking machine. No personality or charm either.)
    2. Lacey von Erich (I like those airhead promos she does, so she’s not that bad for character, but I cringe when she gets in the ring. I think Taz said it best when he was like “That’s a lot of effort to drop an elbow”, or something to that effect. It just seems like she adds a lot of unnecessary crap into her moves, and I just don’t buy it at all. It looks stupid.)
    3. Generation Me (See Lacey von Erich, minus the fun promos. It just seems like they do all kinds of flashy moves that don’t look like they hurt/look like they miss all the time/look completely illogical, for no reason. No character development or personality either. I get horribly bored watching them, or frustrated by how ugly their highflying looks most of the time.)
