CB’s World: Last Minute Pre-Show Thoughts on WWE Extreme Rules
by CB on May 1, 2011

Here we are on Sunday night with WWE Backlash Extreme Rules just about to get started (or by the time I finish this it will be minutes in).

So I give to you my last minute thoughts on WWE Extreme Rules:

1. Extreme Rules, but please NO BLOOD. Because while bleeding in wrestling sports entertainment is archaic, trash cans and kendo sticks have not lost their luster. But hey, 40 is the new 20, right?

2. Guaranteed Title Change. This one ALMOST sold me on buying the PPV, but I decided to wait and see who wins the Big Gold Belt, and if I like what I read I can always grab the replay. (Hint: I am a devout fan of the person I want to win)

3. Loser Leaves WWE, a.k.a. KHARMA’s a b**** big woman trying to make an iMPACT. Oh, Layla, you’ve got me on my knees, so I beg you please, LET KHARMA HELP YOU TONIGHT. Michelle, please rest peacefully indefinitely.

4. Break the Walls Down? Could we see Chris Jericho return tonight to SAVE US VINCE? It could be perfect timing, unlike some of his ballroom routines (don’t blame me, blame the voters!)

5. Tonight’s show is brought to you by the Number 6-1-9 and the Letter M. Yup, I think tonight will belong to Rey Mysterio and The Miz. Rey will get his revenge win over Cody Rhodes, and Miz will retain over John Cena and John Morrison R-Truth. Don’t know what I mean, check out my and everyone else’s Rasslin’ Roundtable picks. (Special shout-out to frequent commenter Joseph Hargrove, who also provided his picks in the comments thread. You the man Joseph!)

Well, that’s it from me, for now.

Oh, I almost forgot tonight’s trick question:

How many RKOs does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a storyline?

The world may never know. The answer is — as stated by Rodney Dangerfield in Back To School — FOUR!

Until next time — and ENJOY THE SHOW — CB.

@CB: Kharma may help Layla but I feel bad for what could happen to her after that.

  • M.C. Brown

I can only hope you’re talking about Christian, CB. ;) Fun article.

  • CB

@Joseph: Good point! After all, kHARMa hates dolls of all hair colors!

    @M.C.: Thanks!

FYI: I am watching Mets-Phillies live right now while reading Extreme Rules results. The ESPN announcers just turned heel by welcoming in the Philly Phanatic <— Ugh. ;-)

  • Joseph Hargrove

@CB: LOL what’s up with this hatred for the Phanatic. It’s only a mascot.

  • CB

Because I’m a Mets fan, Joseph, it’s all we got to make fun of these days!

  • Joseph Hargrove

@CB: Good point, man. I have been a Mets fan my whole life so I understand. Let’s run down what has happened.

Cole/Swagger win again and Cole is still unbeaten on PPV= Boo.
Kofi is the New U.S. Champion= Great for me.
Orton beats Punk again= Fine with that.
    Rey/Cody is currently underway.

    CHRISTIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Joseph Hargrove

@CB: Kharma has finally arrived and Michelle is toast making this my favorite part of the show so far Bye-Bye, Michelle.

On a related note, Let’s go Christian! Do it for the peeps worldwide and bring the World title home. Ring the bell!!

I am so pissed off that Del Rio lost to Christian. I am glad I didnt pay for this crap.

I don’t know where else to put this, so here goes nothin’, along with a little piece of my heart:

    May Day

The New York Mets struggle to keep their lead
on one of many blurry baseball days
they look much like that team from Major League
losing many close games in different ways

Tim Byrdak relieves Izzy in the eighth
F***! I know where this is headed all right
with this team it’s just so hard to have faith
Wait. What? Obama is speaking tonight?

I grab the remote. Type. My fingers flip.
    CNN. FOX News. MSNBC.
They all speculate. They shoot from the lip.
The story breaks. Tears. I can’t f****** see.

The Mets remain locked in a 1-1 “war”
Bin Laden’s body gets dragged to Hell’s door.

Back To School was hilarious. Glad they didn’t remake it with Cedric the Entertainer as was rumored for a bit. Also glad Christian won. Match of the night easily. This show was much better than Mania.
