Currently, I am pretty burnt out on professional wrestling. The only thing past or present I am watching is parts of Raw. While CM Punk is still awesome in every aspect, he cannot carry an entire show. We’ll leave it that, because this article isn’t about that. Instead, this article is going to be all about Ric Flair.

The “it” factor is something you use to describe someone who has it all in pro-wrestling – for instance: drawing power, charisma, ability to connect with the fans, in-ring psychology and storytelling, able to talk on the mic, play both heel and face roles tremendously, and so on. Very few wrestlers have had the it factor, but even the ones who did didn’t come close to having it as much as Flair did.

Granted, Misawa put on better matches, Hulk Hogan drew more money, Jake The Snake Roberts was a better talker, The Rock had more charisma, Bret Hart could execute moves better and tell a better story in the ring, and Jerry Lawler was more realistic than Flair. But still, none of them had the total package as much as Ric Flair did. Ric Flair could make a broadway match feel like 10  minutes, he could make some jobber look like a main-eventer in one match, he could talk your ass into a seat, he could put on the most terrific, dramatic matches ever, he could make you hate him and he could make you love him. In other words, Ric Flair could do it all when it came to wrestling. If there was a wrestling God, his name would be Ric Flair (sorry JBL).

The jet flyin’ days are over for Ric Flair now, however. Ever since Ric Flair left WWE, things have been going downwards for him fast. He’s practically lost all his money from making irrational decisions.

With all this going on with Ric Flair, one would think wrestling fans would be supportive  and feeling some kind of sympathy for him. However, that couldn’t be more false. People are in fact laughing or actually happy that all these things are happening to Ric Flair. I’ll use some examples:

“fuck ric flair. dont like getting called out on your dirty laundry? dont be a dickface. “

Ultimately, I understand Ric Flair did a lot of this to himself, but are people making the matters better by laughing at him? I don’t care if you hate Ric Flair, but at least respect his contributions to this business. I guess people are so perfect and never done anything wrong, so they’re able to make fun of the ones who do apparently.

Anyone who shits on Ric Flair is practically shitting on the entire business, as they’re not caring for someone who gave it his all to entertain us.  It’s very obnoxious and disrespectful. Every wrestling fan should be wishing Flair well instead of laughing at him and hoping bad things will happen to him.

Personally, I wish Ric Flair the best of luck in getting his life in order so he can one day become the limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheeling dealing, son-of-a-gun again. And I hope the true, wrestling fans, not the fake ones, out there do as well.

That’s all I have for today. I hope you agree with me that whatever Flair has done in his personal life shouldn’t be taking in account for what he did as a wrestler.
