Pulse Wrestling’s LIVE WWE Monday Night Raw Coverage: TLC Fallout
by widro on December 19, 2011

WWE is back with an all-new Monday Night Raw coming on the heels of the TLC 2011 PPV last night. Join me for full coverage beginning at 9pm EST!

The show starts with an award show-like opening with CM Punk making some jokes and introducing himself as the winner from TLC last night. He does his entrance and cuts a promo in the ring, first introducing Zack Ryder and Daniel Bryan for winning their title matches. The Philadelphia crowd is red-hod for Punk and Bryan, and also does a loud WOO WOO WOO for Ryder. Ryder and Bryan cut short promos, as the Miz, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio come out on the entrance ramp. Fighting ensues, John Laurinaitis comes out and books a six-man tag for the main event.

Commercial Break

Wade Barrett vs. Randy Orton
This is a rematch of the tables match from last night. Brawling moves from the ring to the floor and after about 2 minutes we go to a break.

Commercial Break

And we’re back! Barrett is in control and beating down Orton in the ring. He has Orton up for Wasteland but Orton floats out. A bit more action then Barrett does a thumb to the eye in the view of the ref for a DQ. Lame.
Orton by DQ

After the match, Barrett continues attacking Orton in the ring. He goes to the floor and grabs a table from under the ring, and puts it into the ring. Barrett gives Orton Wasteland through the table and then… they play his music.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler talk about the HHH/Nash match from TLC last night. Nash suffered MULTIPLE contusions and will be out a minimum of six weeks. Lawler speculates he might be gone forever. A man can dream….

Alicia Fox and Beth Phoenix are split-screen WALKING.

Commercial Break

Alicia Fox vs. Beth Phoenix
This is apparently a non title match. Action progresses for about a minute, then Alicia Fox pins Beth out of no where with a neckbreaker.
Winner: Fox

After the match, Alicia grabs DA MIC. She wants everyone to have a FOXY Holiday. Play her music!

Commercial Break

Sheamus vs. Jinder Mahal
During his entrance, Jinder had a mic and cut a promo on Sheamus. This is a rematch of a squash from last week that wasn’t even a match. This time it was a match, and it was a squash. Brogue Kick gets a clean pin.
Winner: Sheamus

Promo for John Cena returning to address the Kane situation.

WWE Network promo.

Commercial Break

John Cena comes out to mostly boos for a promo here in Philadelphia. He has the BIG GRIN© He talks about the fans and the Rock briefly, but then changes the subject to Kane. There is a monster running around here you guys! He calls Kane out to the ring to discuss their issues. But instead, Mark Henry comes out. The zany Philadelphia crowd chants “Sex-ual Choc-olate” at Henry but he no-sells and continues his promo on Cena. Before Cena can respond, Kane’s new music plays and he comes out with the helmet.

Kane comes down to a full entrance including dark lights and fire. He removes the helmet to reveal his new-style mask. Kane looks at Mark Henry but then turns to Cena, and they brawl to the floor. Kane puts Cena through the announce table, then continues to beat on him, ripping off his Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect shirt. Kane then exits to his music and the eery red Kane lighting.

Commercial Break

Recap of what we just witnessed between John Cena and Kane.

More PPV recaps and promos.

Josh Matthews interviews the Big Show backstage. He’s upset that after 9 years his return to the title was so short lived. He talks about Daniel Bryan. Show is gracious but Matthews pokes him, saying how the Big Show’s record of shortest championship reign will likely never be broken. Show is upset and exits.

The Miz, Dolph Ziggler & Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan & Zack Ryder

Commercial Break

Del Rio’s music keeps playing as we’re back, then Zack Ryder makes his entrance through the fans in the crowd. Daniel Bryan does the same. After the babyface entrances, the match begins, but we quickly take a

Commercial Break

We’re back again during this match and Bryan controls the Miz. Miz counters and tags in Ziggler then Del Rio who have a heat sequence on Bryan. He gets a hot tag to Ryder, who is a house afire for a brief time. He does a boot to a seated opponent in the corner called the “Broski Boot” prefaced by a Woo Woo Woo, so that’s a new signature spot. Eventually he is beaten down, leading to a hot tag to Punk, who gets a huge pop. Big elbowdrop on Miz, cover for 2. Leads into the Anaconda Vice but Ziggler breaks it up. Match is breaking down a bit. Match settles down to Bryan and Del Rio, and Bryan hooks in the Lebell Lock for the submission.
Winners: Punk, Bryan & Ryder

Alicia Fox is definitely improving. She soon will be a cornerstone of WWE. She’s my pick to headline WrestleMania.

  • FDSwayze

Yeah, ratings increase everytime Alicia Fox is on, she always trends worldwide, and creative says they are happy with her work.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

And did you see that crowd POP when she came out of the curtain like a Narnia character?

I bet this is the start of a huge push for Alicia Fox in WWE. Her pop was Shaemus-like.

  • FDSwayze

Yeah, that one girl from Tough Enough was saying how Alicia Fox is her favorite wrestler. She isn’t alone. All the fans like her. That’s what creative told me. She’s over and heat and draw and other nonsense terms that mean nothing.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

Did you see that awesome pop for Shaemus? The guy is constantly improving his entrance and is oozing IT factor.

  • FDSwayze

What about Racist Indian Stereotype guy? If he’s working with future wrestlemania main eventer Shaemus, then he is certainly also going to be headlining wrestlemania with Shaemus and Mark Henry and Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes and Alicia Fox and whoever in an epic Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight WWE Main Event Championship. Racist Indian Stereotype guy continues to improve in the ring, he trends on twitter, he over heat draw face heel, and he increases ratings. What is WWE waiting for with this guy?!?

Philly’s “sexual chocolate” chant at Mark Henry is just positively fantastic. And anyone interrupting “Generic Cena Monologue #106-B” is fine by me.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

I also think that the crowd chanting “SEXUAL CHOCOLATE” during Mark Henry’s speech to John Cena really illustrates how SERIOUSLY over his run as a MONSTER HEEL was. I don’t know why WWE didn’t unify both World Titles and call it the Intergalactic World Championship and just let Mark Henry hold it forever. Ratings for SmackDown will stay the same so management would clearly be happy with it.

  • FDSwayze

The crowd made fun of Mark Henry, and then he ran away when Kane came out. HE’S THE MOST POPULAR WRESTLER EVER! Over heat draw jobber vanilla midget indy darling pop!

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

I think we’ve just seen a re-emergance of the tag-team wrestling division. That one segment alone brought it back. The Uso’s are apparently alive, and whoever those other two losers were just cemented the next golden age of tag team wrestling.

Management could not have been happier with that Samoan War Dance.

  • FDSwayze

Creative says they are happy with the Usos hip-hop credibility on the street. WWE should let them record an album like the number one star in hip-hop, John Cena! Also, I could totally tell Racist Latino Tag Team were Latino guys by the way their valet danced the entire time. Creative says her dancing ability is really improving and soon she will be pop draw jobber face botch stiff worked shoot over heat. IT’S A NEW ERA IN WWE!!!

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

Cody “AJ Styles’ Ring Gear” Rhodes amazing push-of-2011 continues again tonight. Another great promo followed by monster heat from the crowd for his entrance and match. Management might want to slow down on this guy’s push, now I know what you’re thinking. “But Blair, Cody Rhodes is the next main-eventer cornerstone top draw heel!” But I just mean that it would be easy to overdo this type of lightning in a bottle, so they need to make sure they give it enough time to simmer before bringing it to a proper boil.

Guy could be the next Mark “Still Getting Sexual Chocolate Chants 12 Years After The Gimmick” Henry.

  • FDSwayze

Nickleback continues to improve in the ring, they are trending on twitter, and creative says they are very happy with their in-ring work as of late. I expect them to be in a major feud sometime soon and then it’s just a matter of time before heat draw over botch pop push.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

The crowd is into Punk, Bryan and Ryder almost as much as they’re into Shaemus. These guys should keep reaching for the stars.

  • FDSwayze

It’s not really fair though to compare Punk, Bryan, and Ryder to Shaemus though. I mean those three guys are just indy darling vanillia midgets and Shameus is a WWE-made SUPERSTAR that’s going to be headlining Wrestlemania. Shameus does the BIG BOOT! How can Punk, Bryan, or Ryder compete with that?

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

That’s true. It takes a lot of hard work to be a cornerstone like he is.

  • Owangotang

Take all of these comments tonight, add in the whole “I’ll be in my trailer” signature you use to end columns, and finally add your avatar in and…well it sure as hell comes across as if you’re too good for WWE. I don’t think it is a gimmick though, you honestly act this way and believe these things. I guess the positive is that at least you’re watching?

  • Owangotang

Perhaps you should engage in an epic meditation on this, all while obscuring your face and adorning yourself in all white garments?

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

I guess it didn’t come across that I was trying to make light of the way some people talk about certain wrestlers and wrestling stuff on the internet, rather than make fun of the show. I don’t think I’m too good for WWE. I watched the whole show tonight. I thought the opening segment and closing match were as good as anything WWE has done on RAW all year.

Everything in between that was pretty boring, yeah. But, take what you can get, right?

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

Don’t hate on me because I look good.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

You think I can just roll out of bed looking this good? DO YOU?!?!

  • Owangotang

…you’re not going to make me think about you in be—DAMMIT

  • Owangotang

I hear ya. I honestly expected some praise for WWE for taking Punk and Danielson and putting the two big titles on them. Just came across like even that isn’t good enough. Truth be told Punk just went over in the PPV main event and Danielson just won the World Title; Sheamus had to be shoehorned into a meaningless match versus Swagger. WWE may eventually give Sheamus the ball and let him run with it but for now let’s just see where Punk and Danielson take it.

  • dennett316

Alicia pinned Phoenix with a neck breaker? Funny, could have sworn it was an inverted DDT/flip leg drop combo…and very sloppy they were too as Phoenix had a nasty lump on the side of her head from the shitty offence of Fox.
If you’re gonna recap the show, must try harder, even if it was a short-ass diva’s match.

  • Owangotang

I watched the neck breaker in slo-mo a couple of times and it looked like Beth knocked herself out. She jumped before falling back and the way she did it just looked odd. I think she knocked herself out and then Alicia started prancing around and said stuff on the mic quickly because the match was supposed to go longer. Who knows though.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

More importantly, who pays attention to Divas matches?

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

    Yeah. Drink it in.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

Right. But Shaemus had the bad. He fumbled. Multiple times. And he’s not doing any better now.

  • Owangotang

I don’t know that he fumbled really, I mean the guy gets a solid reaction every time he comes out. Can he wrestle? Passably so, but not enough to carry an epic contest on his own. Daniel Bryan can go in the ring but I guarantee he’d LOVE the reactions Sheamus has been getting because Bryan doesn’t get ‘em.

And no, the Dan-iel Bry-an chants whenever a champ is down and out do not count. The fans would chant San-ti-no if Marella had MITB; the heat is on the cash-in.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

    You are wrong.

  • Owangotang

Well THAT’s certainly a well-crafted retort! Guess I’m vanishing again.

  • http://twitter.com/BlairADouglas Blair A. Douglas

Well, I don’t really know what else to say. Shaemus isn’t getting better reactions than Bryan.
