You know what? I think that these are brilliant! They’re not the most exciting videos (Ziggler’s certainly doesn’t get much chance to shine as the host of Dowload!) but it’s a brave new step on WWE’s part to replicate the success of Zack Ryder with other guys who need the rub. Who knew that the Uso’s had personality?! And who knew that Daniel Bryan could be so darn likeable?
Any time that performers are given to engage with the fans and establish their personalities is time well spent, in my view.

That said, I don’t think there’s much anybody could do to make Heath Slater interesting…

The Download thing is interesting, as it both shows off a potential heel character trait that Dolph could exploit for more heat (well, I’m not sure if misogyny counts, but it’s there), but also the 1-2 punch of the slam on the ‘hardcore parkour’ guy and then the mention of the JoMo poster in the background could be a hint that JoMo isn’t really gone for good (he wouldn’t be the first Superstar that was let go and came back, and he seems to get mentioned pretty often for someone who isn’t with the company anymore).

As for this stuff, while Ryder has definitely shown what is possible to do with some self determination, it wasn’t that long ago that Santino’s Casa and the Dirt Sheet did a lot to get Miz, Morrison and Santino over. Those old online exclusive shows were able to do some good things, so having them available via YouTube is probably even better, as it’s more likely to end up being seen by people who don’t regularly go to the WWE website.

You mean you didn’t like Heath’s fedora James?!?! I marked out!

I think it’s awesome to have the shows on Youtube especially since it caters to the rising stars like Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and the Usos. The only thing that could top it is if one of the Divas gets a chance to host a web show. We’ll see if it comes true in the future

Meanwhile, Santino’s Foreign Exchange is possibly the best one due to the entertainment value it could bring to the WWE website. Some of the comedy is corny, but I liked Santino’s Casa so it should be a very interesting show to say the least.
