WWE WrestleMania 29 Confirmed for New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in 2013
by CB on February 15, 2012

NJBiz.com has reported that WrestleMania 29 will in fact be held in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium, which is the NFL football home of the NY Jets and Super Bowl Champion NY Giants.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will make an official announcement about the April 2013 event on Thursday.

The report goes on to say that New Jersey officials expect WrestleMania 29 to draw 70,000 people to MetLife Stadium and that this announcement comes after more than a year of hard work between WWE organizers and the state.

New Jersey’s Izod Center will also likely host WWE WrestleMania 29 Fan Axxess the week before the big show.

“It’s a big, big show, like a mini-Super Bowl,” said a source involved in the event planning.

That should be awesome… assuming the weather holds out. But I wonder what if they’re going to hold ‘Mania XXX at the Garden.

    Yours truly plans on attending.

I think the days of Mania in MSG are over – there’s just too much money involved in hosting in a major stadium, and I bet Vince wants Cowboys Stadium for XXX to take a shot at breaking the record WM III broke all those years ago.

I doubt they hold Mania 30 at the Garden, if anything it will be somewhere huge like Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.

I do know they didn’t do 30 at MetLife because they didn’t want to have Mania in the same venue as the Super Bowl that same year in 2014.

    Exactly, what Steelerdaddy said…
