CMT Network Picks Up New Non-WWE Stone Cold Steve Austin Reality Show
by CB on May 8, 2012

WWE Hall of Fame wrestler and Tough Enough host Stone Cold Steve Austin has scored a 10-episode order from the CMT Network for a new non-WWE reality game show called “Redneck Island”.

Austin will host the show that will feature 12 “red, white, and blue-collared Americans out of the South” competing for $100,000 on a remote island. CMT said in a press release that Austin will “guide the contestants through a number of hilarious mental and physical challenges.”

In addition to “Redneck Island”, it looks like Austin will be hosting more shows for CMT in the future, according to this snippet from their press release: “As part of his development deal, Austin will look to produce additional series for CMT with his production company, Broken Skull Ranch Productions.”

You know, I think this is a good option for Austin. And if he can make a go of it, all well and good. The guy can be gold on the mic and with post-production and some rednecks to abuse, I reckon this could even be fun to watch in a macabre trainwreck sort of a way.

You know what’d help promote the hell out of this show?

    One more match.

    Just saying…
