WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz Talks Elevating the IC Belt Ahead of His SummerSlam Title Match with Rey Mysterio

At WWE SummerSlam Axxess weekend, WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz spoke with Arda Ocal of The Score / Afermath Blog about elevating the IC belt ahead of his SummerSlam match against Rey Mysterio:

Specifically, Miz calls the IC title “prestigious” and when asked about winning the IC belt after already holding the WWE Championship, Miz speaks about being a Triple Crown winner and wanting to hold every single title he’s eligible to win. At one point, Miz plays it cool and jokes about having the World Heavyweight Title on his other shoulder, the WWE title around his waist, and other titles on his legs.

The Miz continues to impress with his awesome mic work.

“And now, I’ve held it, and I’m helding it.”

Although my favourite part of this clip may be the fact that he’s literally at this Access weekend, put on by WWE, and these WWE fans are just walking by him the entire length of the video. I didn’t see anyone stop and point, or anyone who even looked like they recognized or cared that he was right in front of them giving an interview. I mean, it’s not like they took this video in the street – this is AT a WWE fan event. Awesome.

I guess the people taking pictures in the background don’t count. Sure there aren’t many (however, unlike the Ziggler interview, this seems to be at a time where most of the people are heading somewhere), but of the few people seen in the video, a couple of them are getting out cameras and taking pictures.

Well… okay, I never noticed any, but you’re probably right. So, you don’t think, given the amount of people that walked by him or didn’t even notice him when he’s clearly being interviewed holding what is clearly a WWE title belt… versus those few that took a picture – that was a WEAK reaction at a WWE event??! It’s not like he was just walking down the street or something.

The thing with Ziggler made the Miz thing look even worse. Ziggler had fans behind a partition and everything. Maybe some people would have noticed Miz if they had done the same for him, but like… there’s still people all over that video. Barely anyone noticed Miz or cared.
