WWE.com is reporting that Rey Mysterio suffered a concussion at SummerSlam in his match against the Miz. The site reports that during the match, officials “suspected [a concussion] because he hit his head.” A precautionary impact test was performed and indicated that Mysterio did indeed have a concussion.

Rey is not currently cleared for in-ring action and has been removed from all events through the weekend. The company will hold off on allowing him to return until he passes an impact/neuropsych test, hopefully later this week, after which he can undergo exertion testing.

My Two Cents: Poor Mysterio. It seems like the injure bug keeps biting him every time he recovers. It’s sad to say that I want one of the greatest Cruiser Weights ever to retire, especially since he still can put on good matches, but maybe it’s getting around that time for Mysterio to hang it up. Plus, I’m sure there’s a road-agent job awaiting him, especially since WWE’s sparked an interest in bringing in more Cruiser Weights.
