Around the pulse
Phil Clark's Archive

This piece is about the problems TNA has had over the past three years that have put them into the position they are currently in. As for Hogan, you won’t read about him here because he is part of TNA’s future problems. And if people don’t understand that it isn’t 1985 or 1995 or 2002 and that Hogan is considered to be either a joke or a relic by the media at large, then it isn’t worth my time or effort to explain it.

Called the winner, but not much else

I’m back and I brought Dave Ditch & Kevin Wilson with me

And I thought Abismo Negro would be the big wrestling death this year

This one is weird and it barely involves pro wrestling

As if I needed another reason to hate the Nuggets right now

There was a lot of other stuff going on Sunday

Another big show in Japan with TNA wrestlers going unbeaten

Despite the numerous and rampant arguments amongst wrestling insiders, supposed insiders, and just people who watch wrestling, one thing we all could agree on through almost all of 2008 was that Jeff Hardy wasn’t ever going to win a world title.

TNA large and in charge in one country at least

Black Tiger returns as we look at the year that was in the green ring

A desperate move made by a desperate booker of a desperate promotion

Not what I wanted, but what I expected

I know, I didn’t see it coming either

August is usually an interesting time in Japan’s wrestling world, but this year’s eighth month is loaded with tournaments. And while most may not see why this is a big deal, the fact is that each of the major promotions—New Japan, All Japan, NOAH, and Zero-1—have a tournament that either stretched into August this past weekend or is going to take place in August.

Pro Wrestling’s version of a makeover

This week I wanted to do something different, so I was able to get an old friend of the column, Kevin Wilson, to return and share his thoughts on some of the happenings in the world of wrestling. These topics range (in terms of promotion) from NOAH to The E to UFC and look at the good, bad, and potentially ugly having to do with the world of pro wrestling.

Remember it stands for Total Nonstop Action

Taking another trip to the Puro world

It may not be 2007 anymore, but as James Mitchell said, “DEAL WITH IT!”

“You can have the best product in the world…but if nobody knows where you’re at, they ain’t watching it.”—Tommy Dreamer

The Reality of Wrestling: RAW 15th Anniversary Show
By Phil Clark
Enough nostalgia for all
Monday night marked a momentous day in pro wrestling history. Monday was the 15th anniversary showing of Monday Night Raw for The E; the fact that the actual 15th anniversary isn’t until January 11 is irrelevant. What is relevant is that a regularly [...]
