Rabblecast #320 Special Guests: Drew Cordeiro & Nick Talent

The WWE takes injuries very seriously, especially anything involving head injuries. Recently, Dolph Ziggler suffered a brutal blow to the head during a Smackdown taping. The WWE Universe wondered, what happened to the current Heavy Weight Champion? Dolph Ziggler has been diagnosed with retrograde amnesia due to the head trauma. WWE officials were originally hoping that, Ziggler would be able to make his title defense at the upcoming Extreme Rules pay per view. Now, instead of a three-way match for the title the match has been changed to a one-on-one “I quite match” between, Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger. How will this all play out?

TNA is once again getting attention. Once again, it is in a negative light. The most recent incident involves TNA wrestler, Austin Aries and TNA ring announcer, Christy Hemme. While doing a match introduction, Hemme botched the usual ring intro. This led to, Austin Aries entering the ring and confronting Hemme. Austin Aries cornered, Hemme in the ring and then proceeded to climb to the second rope. All the while, Christy Hemme was stuck with nowhere to go. Essentially, Aries put his “junk” in, Christy Hemme’s face. Was this all a joke? What will TNA do to address the situation?

Rabblecast #319 UFC Fighter Wants To Buy WWE, TNA’s Timeslot

Current UFC fighter, Chael Sonnen recently commented that he would like to purchase the WWE. The initial reaction from the WWE, “We are a publicly traded company, so [Chael is] more than welcome to purchase shares of WWE stock and become one of our valued shareholders.” Chael Sonnen is reportedly seeking advice about investing into the WWE. However, it is highly unlikely that he will be able to purchase majority shares due in part to the fact that, Vince McMahon is the currently majority shareholder. Will WWE be welcoming a new “valued” shareholder?

TNA’s masked wrestler, Suicide is said to be returning to the TNA roster. The chracter was originally created as the main star of TNA’s first video game, TNA Impact!, made by former game developer, Midway. On TV, Suicide was played by a few different wrestlers(moslty due to injuries) to keep the character on screen and in story lines. As the popularity of their initial game faded, so did the need for the character on TV. Now that TNA is bringing back a few X-Division wrestler’s it would seem that now would be the time for, Suicide to return as well? Who will played the masked wrestler? Will he be featured in story lines? Or will he become the equivalent of, WWE’s Doink the Clown?

Rabblecast #318 Chris Sabin Returns to TNA, CM Punk’s Return

The WWE recently returned from a European tour. Wrestling fans across the pond are of a different breed. Some attribute the Monday Night RAW after Wrestlemania 29 to the European fans that made the trip to the USA. During the recent European tour, John Cena was said to have suffered an injury to his achilles tendon while brawling with, Ryback. The severity of the injury was not elaborated upon. But that did not stop the WWE from speculating how this would affect the John Cena vs Ryback match slated for the Exteme Rules pay per view. Did John Cena suffer an actual injury or is the WWE looking to test the waters with Ryback taking on an injured WWE Champion?

In TNA Wrestling news… Impact Wrestling will have a familiar face returning to the ring very soon. Chris Sabin is said to be ready to make his return to in-ring action. A former tag team champion and 4 times former X-Division champion, Chris Sabin is no stranger to TNA wrestling and their fans. Upon returning from his second major injury, Chris Sabin’s goal is to become TNA World champion. Can the former, Motor City Machine Gun make the rise to the top in TNA?

Rabblecast #317 Will The Rock Wrestle Again, King Mo’s Debut

When, Duane Johnson(The Rock) returned to the WWE, the main intention was to give back to the company and business that has given him so much. The Rock suffered an injury during his Wrestlemania 29 match with, John Cena. It was left to speculation at first the severity of the injury. It has since been reported that The Rock needed to go in for surgery to repair three hernial tears. After the successful surgery, the question being asked now is… Will The Rock be able to wrestle again?

TNA’s plans with MMA fighter(and soon to be TNA wrestler) King Mo, have been slightly altered. Due to King Mo’s recent surprise loss in the semi-finals of his first Bellator MMA tournament it has been decided that he will return to his MMA training to prep him for another fight and hopefully victory in Bellator. This decision will delay King Mo’s TNA wrestling debut which was originally slated for this summer. How will this affect the TNA/Bellator relationship? Is King Mo worth the wait?

As the WWE continues their “Road to Wrestlemania” it falls to their, Creative team to come up with ways to make the upcoming show(s) more attractive to the casual wrestling fan. On this week’s episode of, Monday Night RAW a Q & A session was held between John Cena and the current WWE Champion, The Rock. The Q & A session included a panel of WWE Legends(Mick Foley, Dusty Rhodes, Booker T and Bret “Hit Man” Hart). Ric Flair was to be included in the panel, but was asked to leave the arena due to a health scare. A blood clot was to blame, apparently the same condition that affected Ric Flair during a recent trip to Japan.

TNA’s main television partner, Spike TV, might be considering an overhaul. The network known for television programming mainly geared toward the male demographic, might be changing over to a more “general entertainment” approach. The cause for this, declining ratings and ad revenue in 2012. There is even rumors of a brand/name change for Spike TV. If this happens, where does TNA sit? Will TNA’s Impact Wrestling have to find a new television home as they begin their road tour?

WWE’s biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania 29, is just a few weeks away. Every Superstar on the roster is hoping to have a spot on the card and live out their “Wrestlemania moment”. Rey Mysterio is one Superstar that is very familiar with being at Wrestlemania. Unfortunately, he is also very familiar with missing Wrestlemania. With a wrestling career spanning almost 25 years, one can only imagine the amount damage Rey Mysterio has taken over the years. In fact, that’s exactly what the WWE is wondering. Even if Rey Mysterio can make it to the “Showcase of the Immortals”, how much time does he left as a regularly featured WWE Superstar?

TNA has officially taken Impact Wrestling on the road. After their successful Lockdown 2013 pay per view, TNA turned their sights to Chicago and their first Impact Wrestling since leaving the sound stage at Universal Studios. Riding high on the energy from Lockdown, recently revealed Ace’s & 8′s leader, Bully Ray has found himself in some trouble as TNA’s new top heel. Did Bully Ray go too far when yelling at a fan? Is this a case of a “bad guy” just doing their job to get cheap heat with the audience? Either way, TNA is definitely getting a lot of attention. Can they keep this wave of excitement going?

One night after Undertaker’s return William Moody , better known as the WWE’s, Paul Bearer(the former manager and long time friend of both Kane and The Undertaker) passed away while being treated for a blood clot. It wasn’t long before the WWE made the call to use the character of Paul Bearer as a catalyst in the Undertaker/CM Punk build up. This is not the first time that the WWE has used real life current events to further a story line. Was it in poor taste?

In TNA news: Lockdown 2013 has made news for the second largest professional wrestling company. It was more than just a title change, as the Ace’s & 8′s story line is reaching a fever pitch. Last week, leading into Lockdown on Impact Wrestling, the VP of Ace’s & 8′s was revealed to be D’Lo Brown(former WWE Superstar). With the rest of the members already revealed, all that was left was the club President. The reveal at Lockdown definitely put some much needed fire back into the story line and into TNA itself. Where do they go from here?
