#1~ I finally back from injury and apparently so is RAW! A full intro video and a round of pyro does a LOT to hype up a live crowd and television audience. The opening segment wasn’t too long and was necessary. I have no idea where the idea of Seth Rollins being in the title match at the Rumble came from but it’s interesting. If for nothing else that it gives Rollins more of an opportunity to cash in his briefcase. Of course, it does throw a wrench into Royal Rumble’s tag line of “The Final Chapter” referring to John Cena versus Brock Lesnar.

#2~ Bad News Barrett and Dolph Ziggler put on another great Intercontinental Championship match. Barrett is another solid choice for champion, especially if there are bigger things for Dolph Ziggler. Either way, Barrett was on a role as IC Champion when he was sidelined with an injury. Here’s hoping he can pick up where he left off.

#3~ The Ascension are wrestling two local yokels! It’s been so long since this has happened on RAW! It’s priceless!

#4~ While the winner of the match was rather head-scratching, the Ambulance Match between Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt was probably the best match of the feud. There were just enough high-spots, stiff weapon blows and finishers to make this match feel like an abbreviated PPV match on RAW. Wyatt/Ambrose disappointed from the word go so this match at least ended the painful feud on a good note.

#5~ Where the hell has this Booker T been? He’s composed, intelligent and storyline driven on commentary! Plus, I haven’t heard a single bit of gibberish come out of his mouth tonight. If this was how Booker T originally treated his stint as a color commentator, maybe it would have lasted longer than a (very, very brutal) year.

#6~ Well that segment went over like a wet balloon. Of course The Authority was going to fire Team Cena, they said they would. And of course all three of them will be in the Royal Rumble somehow. What would have been interesting was if all three guys turned around and laid Cena out. Imagine a freshly turned Dolph Ziggler squaring off against Cena? THAT would be a WrestleMania feud. Well, at least we’re moving forward with some sort of build for the Royal Rumble… even though we have no idea what.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-|topstory500x250

Harrak’s Thoughts: WWE RAW 12.22.14 (Ho Ho Hogan, Dolph Ziggler, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose) Tue, 23 Dec 2014 04:36:46 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

#1~ Well we find out in the first 5 minutes of the show this one was going to be a throwaway. Usually it’s SmackDown that’s on Christmas Day or right before so we’re not really used to seeing a fake Santa host or a Miracle on 34th Street match. That all changed when John Cena started singing “Let It Go”.

#2~ An Adam Rose heel turn was the most newsworthy moment of the night.

#3~ Not a bad story-continuing match and return match on RAW for Roman Reigns. Sure it wasn’t anything spectacular but it displayed some of Reigns’ more popular moves and Big Show saved face by getting counted out.

#4~ Now it’s rare that I’d say anything about this match but I’m glad the El Torito was featured in the Los Matadores/Gold & Stardust match. I’ve recently been catching up on Lucha Underground and one of the best things they feature is the midget wrestlers wrestling with the normal size competitors. Most midget wrestlers are fantastic athletes and they shouldn’t be regulated to only matches against someone else the same size. Hell, a lot of their most exciting moves take place with the help of a normal-sized wrestler. Have El Torito become a legitimate member of Los Matadores and maybe they’ll actually get a little over.

#5~ Another good match between Dolph Ziggler and Luke Harper & kudos to WWE for putting the Intercontinental Championship on the line as it absolutely added to the drama of the contest. I have to question Harper knocking Ziggler out before the bell though. Once again Dolph Ziggler was fighting from behind and has yet to look “strong” in this most recent push. Every week he’s aggressively beat up the entire match only to “barely” pull out the victory in the end. I’d love to see a few matches where Ziggler had the upper hand in the match for a little while at least.

#6~ Even though I knew it was coming, there was a helluva a lot more comedy in Ambrose/Wyatt than was necessary. Honestly, it would be the best thing for everyone involved if this rivalry ended as soon as possible. And then for everyone to forget this feud ever took place. Let’s be honest, a feud between Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose looks terrific on paper but ever since a hologram kicked off the rivalry, it was doomed. Now it looks like it might have ended with the crowd chanting for them to hit each other with a Christmas tree…topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

10 Thoughts: WWE RAW 12.08.14 – The Slammy Awards Thu, 11 Dec 2014 04:09:30 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

#1~ Seth Green got off to a great start and the crowd embraced him right away. Besides for Hugh Jackson or Bob Barker, Green was the best choice to host and one of the best guests they’ve ever had on RAW. It’s amazing how well the “guest host” gimmick works when the host actually knows and likes the product!

#2~ While it’s awesome to get Dolph Ziggler/Seth Rollins on RAW, why wasn’t this match set for a PPV. It was a very good match that unfortunately had a screw job finish. It’s definitely high time these two had a legit program and the fact that they haven’t has been a glaring oversight.

#3~ Great showcase for Charlotte on RAW but the loss wasn’t too bright. Especially since one, you’re trying to promote the NXT special and two, Charlotte just lost to the woman she beat for the NXT Woman’s Championship (even though no commentator remembered that fact).

#4~ So the rocking chair was Sister Abagail’s…? I guess that would piss Bray Wyatt off but I don’t know if Wyatt’s crying about it like Dean Ambrose ran over his dog really made sense. With the new rumor that Wyatt may be facing the legendary Undertaker at WrestleMania 31, I can’t help but wonder what they’re going to do to make Bray Wyatt formidable again.

#5~ What began as a very “Santino” gimmick, Damien Mizdow has become a cult phenomena. His “suplex” and then the even better “delayed suplex” were just fantastic ideas. And that’s not even including the greatest gimmick of them all, Mizdow’s “prop titles”. I don’t know what the long-term plans are but I can tell you that when Mizdow turns on The Miz, the proverbial roof will be blown off the arena.

#6~ Well we didn’t get Shawn Michaels challenging The Undertaker for WrestleMania as we did a few years before but it was a pretty solid show. The awards didn’t take too much time so they didn’t lose the live audience. Plus, they were always bookmarked by in-ring action instead of endless promos or backstage segments. That will always keep a live crowd lively. All in all a very good show for one that is usually terrible. Hey, maybe they have the right formula down now.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

Harrak’s Thoughts: WWE RAW 12.1.14 (Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, John Cena) Tue, 02 Dec 2014 17:54:12 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

#1~ John Cena tries to kill of the Anonymous GM, Dolph Ziggler is put over AND Seth Rollins brings up Sting all in the first 5 minutes of the show’s start. I guess someone on Creative actually read the reviews of RAW last week.

#2~ Seth Green is a good choice for the Slammys host. It’s definitely not Dennis Miller and finally someone who is a huge wrestling fan plus one who knows the WWE audience. I’m looking forward to next week instead of dreading it.

#3~ I don’t even remember what Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose are fighting about anymore. I do know that Wyatt was absolutely devastated when Ambrose destroyed his rocking chair so I guess there’s that. The only way this feud can escalate now is if Ambrose gets his hands on Wyatt’s lantern.

#4~ So did you realized that was Noelle Foley in the “Cyber Monday” promo with her father dressed as Santa. I think it’s safe to say that she got the high-end of her mom’s supermodel looks and not her dad’s “garbage man” good looks.

#5~ Did anyone catch why Brie Bella is now a heel? If you missed the Bellas’ entrance then you don’t because that’s the only time it came up. Apparently the explanation is that Brie fell in love with Nikki & they became friends again while Brie was Nikki’s indentured servant.

#6~ The end of that six-man tag match really shined the light on something: why isn’t Seth Rollins booked with Dolph Ziggler and John Cena with Luke Harper. It seems like such a natural switch but we get stuck with these stale match ups. In a time when there’s nothing going on and everyone is waiting for WrestleMania season, try something new! I think we’ve harkened about this for years but damn, there’s nothing interesting on the show right now!topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

Harrak’s Thoughts: WWE RAW 11.17.14 (John Cena, The Authority, Ryback, Luke Harper) Tue, 18 Nov 2014 04:38:22 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

#1~ That was a nice use of footage from when Ryback was in the midst of his inevitably failed heel run. It was completely en-vogue to mock & humiliate Ryback and the always clever John Cena was certainly on that bandwagon. I’m curious to see if Cena tries to spin that footage in his favor (which he obviously can’t). I really hope Ryback doesn’t join Cena’s team, keep him neutral. I hate to say it but Randy Orton is the perfect fit for the final spot.

#2~ While the beat down was unnecessary at the beginning of the match, Luke Harper just won the Intercontinental Championship in one of his first singles’ matches on the main roster. I couldn’t praise Harper’s potential enough last week and it seems like the WWE made the right decision to go all in on Luke Harper.

#3~ You have to love Dean Ambrose’s humor. He’s funny but sarcastic enough that the male fans believe it’s still cool to cheer him. That segment was straight out of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s & The Rock’s “If your pager flashes 3-1-6, then it’s your ass” but hell, how many even remember that now. God, I’m old. Oh and the main thing I got out of that segment was that The Ascension will be debuting at Survivor Series.

#4~ Oh poor Cesaro. Make one wrong comment and not only are you in “the doghouse” but you also have to lose to one half of RybAxel. But good God that was a damn good match out of Ryback. I’m impressed.

#5~ Soooo…. Luke Harper wins the Intercontinental Championship and Erick Rowan had a segment with Grumpy Cat. I wonder who’s Marty?

#6~ While I wasn’t clamoring for a Big Show/Sheamus match, it was a nice diversion from the typical pre-Survivor Series RAW where a member of team good guys has to wrestle a member of team bad guys.

#7~ To clarify what I said last week, I’m on board with The New Day group with Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods because those are two guys who desperately needed a gimmick overhaul & one who needed to make some sort of television presence. Plus they are all talented and bring different abilities to what can be a strong group.

#8~ Wow, I really couldn’t be luckier. Larry The Cable Guy is hosting RAW next Monday and I’ll be too busy interviewing ROH’s Kevin Kelly for the HTC/Inside Wrestling Pulsecast. Whew…

#9~ Yup didn’t see Erick Rowan coming. Talk about taking a complete 180 with THAT character! I don’t know how things are going to play out on Sunday but those are definitely two random teams thrown together so it could be awesome or completely terrible. Oh does anyone know if Cesaro is actually ON Team Authority? Or was that just WWE’s way to mess with Cesaro fans again?topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

Harrak’s Thoughts: WWE RAW 11.10.14 (John Cena, Ryback, Seth Rollins, Luke Harper) Tue, 11 Nov 2014 15:17:24 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

#1~ I never thought I would put Ryback in the headline of a RAW report again. It’s amazing what removing a beanie that makes you look like a steroid-pump condom can do for a guy.

#1 ~ Ryback, Mark Henry, Triple H, Kane and John Cena opened RAW. Yea that really makes me want to stay awake for the rest of this show. Not to mention that suddenly Jack Swagger is relevant again.

#2~ Ah it seems that Stephanie McMahon heard the online criticism of last week’s “Vladimir Putin” line from Lana. At least this interaction felt more like how things would happen backstage (even the tongue-in-cheek comment about politics in the WWE).

#3~ Did Jerry Lawler “sincerely apologize” to anyone who was offended by Sheamus interrupting the Russian national anthem? This is becoming ridiculous. When did Russia become so sensitive when it came to PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING?!

#4~ Alright, alright if this “New Day” group DOES consist of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston & Big E then it might work. I still don’t like Woods trying to pull off Ernest Miller’s gimmick but I get it considering the theme of the whole group.

#5~ “You’re still good-looking. That counts for something, right?” – Awesome line from the Big Show & I’m really surprised it didn’t break Dolph’s character. Well maybe it did and they did a reshoot. Who knows…

#6~ That “pep-talk” from Stephanie sounded EXACTLY like one she gave during the Invasion angle. Just a little less screechy and more mom-like.

#7~ Thank you, Bray Wyatt for finally finding your way back. This angle with Dean Ambrose seems to have reinvigorated Wyatt. That promo was a throwback to his debut and not typical swill that we’ve been hearing lately. Now for them to deliver at Survivor Series in what will be the first of a few matches.

#8~ The addition of Luke Harper would be fantastic. Harper will surprise the majority of people with how his singles’ run plays out. Sure he might not be off to the greatest start if WWE focuses in on a “crazy eyes” gimmick. But the former Brodie Lee was one of the first guys the WWE signed after CM Punk & Daniel Bryan that really had an underground following. Wrestling everywhere from CHIKARA to Ring Of Honor, Harper’s ability and move set are far wider than what we’ve seen so far on WWE TV. His first singles’ push on the main roster should showcase a lot of what Luke Harper has to offer and Survivor Series should be a great start.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

Live Monday Night RAW 11.3.14 Review & Results! (Vince McMahon, The Authority, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins) Tue, 04 Nov 2014 01:11:41 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

{Hello all, I’ll be filling in tonight as our own Justin Czerwonka has the privilege of attending Monday Night RAW live. Should be an interesting ride tonight. – MJH}

Nothing like kicking off RAW with a little “No Chance In Hell”. Vince McMahon makes his return to RAW flanked by Triple H & Stephanie McMahon. After running down his past feuds (including his feud with God), McMahon made the announcement that if Team Authority loses to Team Cena at Survivor Series that The Authority will be made to disband and will no longer be in power. Dean Ambrose’s music hit as McMahon and The Authority are leaving the ring. Vince greets Ambrose with a smile and a handshake while Triple H & Stephanie look on disapprovingly. Ambrose enters the ring for his match with Cesaro after the break.

Vince McMahon rants to The Authority about how good it felt to be in the ring tonight in front of his limo. They wish him a good trip back home and constantly reassure him that they have everything in order. After he gets in the limo, Triple H and Stephanie turn away saying they “need to go figure this out”.

Cesaro makes his way to the ring. Ambrose & Cesaro lock up and begin trading wrist locks and armbars for all of 30 seconds before the brawl starts. Cesaro tosses Ambrose out of the ring but Dean comes back to ram Cesaro’s head into the barricade a few times before tossing him back in the ring. The lights go out before the break and Bray Wyatt appears in his rocking chair on the stage when the lights are raised.

Back from break and Cesaro has control delivering a wicked spinning neckbreaker while Ambrose was in Randy Orton’s rope DDT position. Ambrose makes a comeback with trademark brawling & rebound clothesline before Cesaro counters with his vicious “very European” uppercut. Ambrose counters and throws Cesaro outside. Ambrose hits a diving planca to the floor and follows it up with Dirty Deeds in the ring for the win. The lights go out and Bray Wyatt disappears before Ambrose can get to him.

Triple H and Stephanie talk about putting together the strongest Survivor Series team possible. Triple H immediately begins to call Randy Orton to Stephanie’s dismay since Orton RKO’d Seth Rollins last week. Triple H says they need the strongest team they can get now that Stephanie’s father put so much on the line.

The Usos make their entrance as Jimmy Uso gets ready to face The Miz. The Miz and Jimmy lock up as Damien Mizdow does his typical routine on the outside. Jey Uso looks at Mizdow strangely before joining in and mimicking what his brother is doing in the ring. Michael Cole tosses out a rather cool fact saying that Survivor Series will be the first PPV the WWE ever gives away for free. Jimmy hits the Miz with a dive over the top rope but Mizdow creates the diversion when he rolls into the ring with The Miz. Jey Uso knocks out Mizdow with a crescent kick but Jimmy gets caught getting into the ring, gets hit with the Skull Crushing Finale and The Miz picks up the win.

Sheamus takes on Tyson Kidd with Natalya because two Sheamus matches tonight are better than one as he takes on Rusev on the WWE Network right after RAW for the WWE United States Championship. Tyson Kidd and Sheamus actually have a back and forth match until things spill outside. When Sheamus went to charge Kidd, Kidd pulled Nattie in the way and rolled back into the ring to beat the count and Sheamus. Post match, Sheamus Brogue Kicks Kidd while he’s celebrating and walks out with the US Championship.

Dolph Ziggler makes his way to the ring as the announcers play up Ziggler’s involvement with John Cena and if he’ll join Team Cena. Instead of announcing an opponent, all of The Authority make their way to the ring. Triple H tries to convince Ziggler that he shouldn’t join Cena’s team. He even went as far as to play into rumors that Ziggler just can’t break through the “glass ceiling” because someone is in his way (in this story, John Cena). Triple H offers Ziggler “anything he wants” if he calls Cena and backs out of the match at Survivor Series. Dolph responds that all he wants is them out of power for good. Triple H then makes a match for the Intercontinental Championship between Ziggler and Seth Rollins next as punishment.

Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury are ringside for Rollins. Ziggler & Rollins start out with some mat wrestling before things start to pick up. Rollins nails Ziggler with a stiff clothesline before Ziggler makes a brief comeback with a beautiful dropkick and clothesline. Rollins counters and clotheslines Ziggler to the outside as we go to the break.

The match resets with a double clothesline as both men try to get back to his feet. Ziggler reaches his feet first and hits Rollins with his comeback set. Rollins counters a 10 punch in the corner with a turnbuckle powerbomb. Rollins misses a flying knee and Ziggler connects with the Fameasser for a long two. Rollins counters a superkick from Ziggler with a nice kick to the back of the IC champion’s neck. Ziggler avoids interference from Mercury but Noble hits him with a top rope clothesline and Rollins throws Ziggler into the steel post followed by the Curb Stomp. Before going for the cover, Randy Orton sneaks in and hits the RKO on Rollins. He walks out with the rest of The Authority shouting after him.

Randy Orton confronts Triple H & Stephanie McMahon backstage and begs for Seth Rollins in a match tonight. Stephanie asks why they would put their co-captains in a match against each other which completely sends Orton over the edge. Orton asks why he should even fight for this side and maybe he should fight for Team Cena. Triple H goes into pep-talk mode about needing “The Viper” on his team so he’ll give Orton his match against Rollins so they can get all of this crap out and then be done with it. Orton accepts and we have Orton versus Rollins later tonight.

Cue a very weird “eyeball” vignette that left the announcers speechless. Go to YouTube if you’re interested. It was weird.

Titus O’Neil is in the ring spelling his name and saying how he wants on Team Authority when Ryback’s music hits. Ryback is in full babyface mode again this week and Buffalo is into it by immediately chanting “Feed Me More”. Titus shows off an awesome display of strength by lifting Ryback over his shoulder, holding him there for awhile and then dropping him with a backbreaker. Ryback comes back with a spinebuster and goes to the Meathook clothesline as the crowd chants “Feed Me More” again. The Authority is shown watching the match as Ryback hits the still pitiful-looking Shell-Shocked finisher.

The Big Show makes his way down to the ring for his match against Mark Henry. I guess they’re fighting because they both suck at defending America. Now an Irishman gets to do it tonight after RAW on the WWE Network making RAW even longer than it already is. Big Show & Mark Henry traded a bunch of elbow drops and slams until Big Show kicked out of the World’s Strongest Slam & Henry got mad so he hit Show with the steel steps for the DQ. Henry then delivered the World’s Strongest Slam outside the ring on the stairs.

Renee Young tries to conduct an interview with Brie Bella but Nikki shuts that down because she didn’t approve it. Erick Rowan comes out of nowhere, strokes Renee’s hair and says “pretty”. Nikki Bella squares off with Emma as AJ Lee joins in on commentary (cue “CM Punk” chants). Nikki dominates the match and ends it with the Rack Attack. She then demands Brie go and slap AJ which caused Lee to knock out Brie and chase Nikki up the ramp.

Because we always have time to kill, it’s time to kill Zack Ryder at the hands’ of Rusev. Ryder gets crushed (dammit, I used it!) as The Authority looked at recruiting Rusev because apparently they have no American pride.

Los Matadores and Gold & Stardust are already in the ring as we’re set for Stardust versus Fernando. The Miz & Damien Mizdow are on commentary, well The Miz is on commentary and Mizdow is lip-syncing everything. El Torito knocks Goldust into The Miz which caused enough of a distraction that Fernando caught Stardust with a backstabber and picked up the upset.

Randy Orton makes his way to the ring and our own Justin Czerwonka gets some valuable screen time for the HTC/Inside Pulse Wrestling Pulsecast behind “The Viper”. Seth Rollins comes down the ramp with a limp and even sells a hurt back when taking off his shirt. Rollins even looked at Stephanie and Triple H to see if the match is still going to happen. The bell rings and Orton begins a one-sided asswhopping Steve Austin would be proud of.

We’re back and Rollins has control. Until he tries to hit a planca to the outside and Orton sidesteps him. Rollins eventually regains control as Triple H and Stephanie begin to look a little more worried. The action spills to the outside and Orton hits a side suplex to Rollins on the table. Orton then went into crazy cleaning mode by completely clearing the announcers’ table while Triple H asked him if he really needed to do this. Rollins rolled back to avoid any damage for now. He regained the advantage after dumping Orton to the outside and hitting a dive to the floor. Rollins rolls Orton back inside, jumps off the top for the flying knee and gets a long 2. Orton gains the upperhand after avoiding the Curb Stomp and moving into his signature moves. Orton hits the middle rope DDT and sets up the RKO. When he goes for it, Rollins reverses it into a backside and a quick 3 count out of nowhere. Triple H is almost out of his suit because of stress but asks Orton to shake everyone’s hand. Orton does until he gets to Rollins, who gets another RKO. Orton sets up the punt kick but Triple H stops him and tries to talk him down. He succeeds for a bit until Orton snaps and clocks Triple H too. He continues to take out everyone until Kane holds him on the table long enough for Seth Rollins to Curb Stomp him on the table. Orton’s head is legitimately busted open now and Stephanie is trying to convince Triple H to order The Authority to “finish this”. He finally did and Seth Rollins Curb Stomped him onto the steel steps. The announcers played up the fact that Orton is no longer in The Authority (and thus we now have a babyface Randy Orton) while Rollins posed and the doctors’ worked on Orton.

On the Network, the doctors are still working on Randy Orton and are putting him on a stretcher when Rusev’s music hits for the United States Championship match. Michael Cole set up the match and even said that neither Rusev nor Sheamus have ever tapped out in their WWE careers. Both men are pretty stiff as every punch & kick are loud and leave a mark. Neither man holds an advantage for long until Rusev counters the Battering Ram into a powerslam onto the floor and then nails a spinning heel kick. Sheamus begins to make a comeback when he tries to hit his tilt-a-whirl suplex but it ends up being mostly a slam. The advantage is traded back and forth with Sheamus breaking out of the Accolade and Rusev dodges the Brogue Kick. Rusev hits Sheamus with two superkicks and locks in the Accolade. Sheamus fights for a little while before passing out and thus your new WWE United States Champion, Rusev!

Total Runtime of RAW = 3 hours and 40 minutestopstory120x120-×120.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250.jpg|topstory500x250

Harrak’s Thoughts: WWE Hell In A Cell 2014 (Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose/John Cena vs Randy Orton) Mon, 27 Oct 2014 23:38:43 +0000 2014 Hell In A Cell Header

#1~ Dolph Ziggler versus Cesaro was pretty much everything we expected from two of WWE’s best in ring performers. It was a little shocking to see Ziggler win two straight to none but considering how much he sells and loses non-title matches, I can see the importance of giving him a strong win against a strong contender. But what now for Cesaro? He’s against both the US and IC Champions. Doesn’t he try for the Tag Team titles again? Cesaro just needs a positive path right now.

#2~ Nikki & Brie was pretty much that was expected. They got the exact right amount of time and were placed well on the card. Combine that with some decent in ring action, a clean finish and suddenly there was a second decent women’s match on the show. I wish I could say I expected more from the backstage segment that they shot later but I guess we should all get settled in for a month of “Mean Girls” reruns.

#3~ If it wasn’t for the giant cage hanging above the ring, I would’ve checked my DVR to see if this was last week’s RAW. It’s hard to believe that these two teams could any think of any other spots that they haven’t tried yet since they wrestle each other on TV every week. I guess that’s what happens when you only have 4 tag teams on your main roster.

#4~ I think John Cena versus Randy Orton was better than most expected it to be. The wrestling was solid, storyline was easy to follow and the veterans were able to throw in enough new moves (awesome counters & great near falls) from both men. I still want to see want to see Orton thrown into the WWE Championship match since I really don’t need another Lesnar/Cena match for the rest of my life.

#5~ Sheamus beat Miz without anything special happening at all. It was a RAW match. A BAD RAW match. This was the perfect time to turn Sheamus since everyone is loving Damien Mizdow but nothing. Just more terribleness and missed opportunities.

#6~ Again, another RAW match that just happened to take place on a PPV. I think Big Show left his intensity at RAW as well since these two just appeared to be going though the motions.

#7~ You had to know that as soon as Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose were signed for a Hell In A Cell match that someone was coming off of the top. Therefore, I loved that they started the match off on top of the Cell, right where we all expected them to end up. I liked that both men took the “Shawn Michaels bump” off of the Cell but the addition of Joey Mercury & Jamie Noble was completely uncalled for and overbooked. And then you add Kane and my attention is starting to wander. Throw in a pretty cool return for Bray Wyatt and I’m officially ready to crap all over this match. Why would anyone, in ANY WORLD, not let Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have a legitimate match. They were headlining your damn pay-per-view and spent more time receiving medical attention than the did having any physical contact. Bray Wyatt got a cool return, is now feuding with #2 babyface Dean Ambrose & the PPV closed on his image… Bray Wyatt, a man not on the show or even on live TV for the last 6 weeks returns to destroy the one story your fans, your paying fans have been dying to see and PAID to see. Time’s running short for the WWE to start listening to his fans.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-2014-hell-in-a-cell.jpg|topstory500x250

Harrak’s Thoughts: WWE RAW 10.20.14 (Dean Ambrose, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton) Tue, 21 Oct 2014 04:24:28 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

#1~ I’m curious as to how much leeway the WWE gives Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose inside the Cell. Of course Ambrose & Rollins want to steal the show and probably even want to upstage some of Mick Foley’s greatest Cell moments but will the WWE let them? Rollins is easily one of their top heels and there’s no other top babyfaces besides Ambrose and John Cena now that Daniel Bryan AND Roman Reigns are out. These two men would have definitely done better during the ratings war where any risk was encouraged, as long as the fans were entertained. Nowadays it’s all about protecting your assets.

#2~ WOW, AJ Lee is facing PAIGE at the PPV?!?! Damn I need to sign up for that SMS text messaging system!

#3~ Randy Orton versus John Cena playing up their history at this stage of their careers could have been fun but unfortunately they had to be in Kansas City. Hey, I’m all for driving attention to the Royals but what they’ve done tonight has been a little too much. I do love that Paul Heyman came out to add Brock Lesnar to Cena and Orton’s “rookie class”. And I guess #RKOOutOfNowhere will be trending again after a great RKO on Heyman.

#4~ While the Big Show probably wasn’t anyone’s first pick to feud with Rusev but I think he’s been BY FAR the most effective. When the Big Show is given the ball, he always turns up the intensity and by extension, strengthens his connection with the fans. The fans were desperate for Big Show to get his hands on Rusev tonight and hopefully the Hell In The Cell crowd feels the same.

#5~ God, I think I only watch RAW now to get to the Dean Ambrose segments. His exchange with John Cena was priceless (especially with the Joker reference) and then we got CPRollins. I really can’t say I ever expected Dean Ambrose to introduce a Seth Rollins CPR dummy. Does he get to be the new guy who can “have a good match with an inanimate object”? Mick Foley’s addition was definitely surprising and helped sell a specialty match between two relative newbies who have never been in a Hell In A Cell match. I think Ambrose and Rollins could have pulled it off but adding Foley was definitely a good choice.

#6~ Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler put on another gem but what else would you expect?  Hey if they’re only going to give us 5 matches, at least that gave us one between Cesaro and Ziggler.

#7~ The “street fight” wasn’t much of a “street fight”. Everyone had to tag in and out. And it really didn’t get even somewhat violent till near the end. I did like that Seth Rollins was the only one standing to close RAW but the match left A LOT to desire.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

Harrak’s Thoughts: WWE RAW 10.13.14 (Dean Ambrose, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton) Tue, 14 Oct 2014 03:18:54 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

1. The dynamic between John Cena and Dean Ambrose is more interesting & exciting than I think anyone would have guessed. But they’re playing to their obvious strengths. Cena as the goodie, goodie and Ambrose as the one too crazy to hold it all in. The WWE finally created a babyface that can finally split the crowd just as much as Cena does. Men, women and some children cheer for Ambrose while women, children and some men cheer for Cena. It’s a great crowd dynamic that I hope they’re able to maintain.

2. LOVE the fact that Dean Ambrose “stole” Drew McIntyre’s double-arm DDT as his finisher. The headlock DDT always looked extremely weak to me and the Ambrose character needed something a little more vicious so what’s better than a move made famous by Cactus Jack?!

3. Fantastic match between two of the most fluid & entertaining in-ring performers on the main roster right now. Randy Orton is VASTLY underrated as a wrestler and we all know what Dolph Ziggler can do with a bad opponent so just imagine him with a great opponent. This match will probably up for match of the year in many polls and rightfully so. Oh yea & that RKO… HOLY F**K!!!

4. I really have to give Damien Sandow credit. Talk about taking the ball and running with it. The “Damien Mizdow” gimmick is better than the revolving characters he was portraying before and hell, it’s getting over and pretty damn funny as well. Kudos to a guy who’s been with the WWE so long that it feels like a lifetime.

5. As long as Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins go on last, I’m excited for this booking. Of course we’ve all see Randy Orton versus John Cena a million times but I’m really liking the one-upmanship between Orton and Rollins. I say bridge them off into a feud and let the fans decide who they want to cheer, even if that IS Orton. I was a decent match with a predictable outcome but the line of the night was when I heard a little kid shout after Ambrose’s suplex to Cena on the stage “Enough, Ambrose! Enough!”. See, for some people this is still real… dammit!topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

Harrak’s Thoughts: WWE RAW 10.6.14 (The Rock, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, John Cena) Tue, 07 Oct 2014 03:50:36 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

{After a 2-week vacation which involved more work than work, I’m back with my thoughts and insights into the world of wrestling.}

1~ So what I learned from the opening promo wasn’t that they booked a 3-on-2 handicap match but the fact that they robbed us of a pretty good main event between John Cena & Dean Ambrose versus Seth Rollins & Randy Orton by adding Kane. Smart move to open the show…

2~ I don’t know how many different six-man tag matches they can put The Usos every week but I can see why they do. They’re just damn entertaining and a great way to kick off the in ring action of a 3-hour RAW. Unfortunately I believe The Usos are going to be vastly underrated once their time is up in the WWE. These two brothers are two of the best athletes and most charismatic Superstars in the business today!

3~ The Luke Harper vignettes are right on point to “debut” him as his own singles wrestler. We know some of what he can do in the ring but definitely not all of it and absolutely nothing of his back story. These are great teases to breakout a terrific wrestler that people might not be expecting much from.

4~ Nice promo from Cena and Ambrose that highlighted their differences as well as some of the similarities. While Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan are out, Dean Ambrose is the default #2 babyface and an extremely different one at that. They can’t just place him into the Reigns or Bryan storylines which is the typical workflow when someone goes down with an injury. They have to take a couple of left turns when it comes to the Ambrose character, especially when he’s working off of John Cena as the #1 babyface. One of those left turns they nailed was tonight’s “walk out” on Cena by Dean Ambrose. The shot of him getting on the subway was the right touch that the angle needed to make it and the Ambrose character work. Now if Ambrose comes back for the save with cotton candy or something would be the icing on the cake.

5~ OK, The Rock appearing out of absolutely nowhere with nothing to promote and no big events coming up was amazing. THIS is one of the reasons why I don’t usually read my news feed on Mondays. I LOVE to be surprised like this and what a go-to guy to get on RAW have the backlash from the Russian Flag stunt last week. It’s nice to have someone the size of The Rock on speed dial. Brooklyn (and the internet) went nuts for The Rock’s return and was able to degrade Rusev the way the WWE likes & without all of the political drama or backlash. Even after all of these decades, I don’t think there’s a shadow of a doubt that The Rock is still the best in WHATEVER situation he is put in.

6~ I will admit I didn’t think we’d see promos for Erick Rowan debuted while Harper seems like the guy they want to push first (and rightfully so). I did like the tease of the pregnant woman with “It’s Coming” written on her stomach. That could mean so many different things when it comes to the Wyatt Family. In my opinion, they could use another member BUT only if it is a woman. Another male would just mean another guy that would get in the way of Rowan and Harper’s pushes and that’s exactly what they DON’T need right now.

7~ The main event was pretty much was what expected… until Dean Ambrose came out with a damn hot dog stand! Including a ketchup & mustard holster. Yup, you read that right and it was just as glorious as it sounds. I also do like the stipulation scheduled for Hell In A Cell. Of course it would be logical for Ambrose to face Seth Rollins in a Cell but now he has to beat Cena too. Things are completely in the air now and unless they start setting up a secondary feud for Cena, I don’t how Ambrose is going to advance to the main event. At least things are getting somewhat interesting leading into Hell In A Cell even without a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match.

My Thoughts: WWE RAW 9.15.14 (Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins) Tue, 16 Sep 2014 03:16:34 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

#1~ There’s definitely something wrong when its a special event when the WWE World Heavyweight Champion shows up for WORK!

#2~ I wonder why Kane is considered “Corporate Kane” now but not when he was in the Corporation stable during the Attitude Era… Is it just the elbow pads and slacks? He’s definitely had a very strange Hall Of Fame career.

#3~ That was a damn good promo from Roman Reigns. You can obviously see the charisma under the “Cool Hand Luke” character he’s playing now. I can’t wait to see him finally break out completely.

#4~ As long as they let them go at it, Cesaro versus Sheamus should be damn stiff. Both guys have been watered down in the WWE main event scene but that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten how you wrestle overseas. Tons of potential for Sunday but I’m not getting my hopes up too high.

#5~ If you ever wondered what a good “go home” set looks like, just watch the last 4 minutes of The Usos & Sheamus vs Cesaro, Gold & Stardust. That was unbelievably timed out and tremendously excited. Great work by the 6 men in this match.

#6~ That was actually a pretty good segment to sell the main event at Night of Champions. It showed that Lesnar can still be immediately dominant if he doesn’t showboat. And it showed that Cena can contend in the match by exploiting Lesnar’s mistakes. SummerSlam was a match so different from anything we’ve ever seen in a World Heavyweight Championship match I’m interested to see what they come up with Sunday.

#7~ Remember when The Shield debuted and we couldn’t wait for them to break up because they were all great singles’ wrestlers? Well so far so good and its only been a few months! Just wait until they’re all main eventers.

#8~ I’m not taking much time to mention the final segment. It sucked.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

My Thoughts: WWE RAW 9.8.14 (Chris Jericho, Bray Wyatt, John Cena, Roman Reigns) Tue, 09 Sep 2014 03:22:25 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

1. Smart idea to begin your “season premiere” with Bray Wyatt versus Chris Jericho in a steel cage. It’s rare to kick off RAW with a match so starting off with a steel cage match should be a big deal. AND THE 43 YEAR OLD CHRIS JERICHO JUST JUMPED FROM THE TOP OF STEEL CAGE! And yet I don’t think there’s anything Jericho can do at this stage of his career where he could be considered one of the greatest performers of all-time. He deserves it but it won’t happen. A great match to kick off RAW. A great way to write Jericho off of TV and another great moment to bolster Bray Wyatt back into the upper-midcard/main event scene.

2. DAMMIT! Why couldn’t Rosa Mendes’ wardrobe malfunction happen tonight?! As my wife said, “At least she has a nice butt. It could have been a flat ass like Summer Rae.” Yup, straight from a woman’s mouth. I love her.

3. Good call having John Cena come to the ring with Paul Heyman. If Brock Lesnar’s not going to be on RAW, there has to be some sort of confrontation between Heyman and Cena. And did Cena write Paul Heyman’s rap? That sure as hell sounded like something 2004 John Cena would have let loose. Still, that was a damn good promo from John Cena and probably the most emotional promo I’ve seen from him in a long time. Him and Heyman have had to carry this feud through the absence of Lesnar but if Lesnar’s storylines have to be carried by Heyman & Lesnar’s opponent every month, the television product is definitely going to suffer.

4. NXT on RAW?!?!? FANTASTIC! I have a feeling these four guys REALLY impressed with their one shot on RAW. Great match and an amazing showcase for these great athletes.

5. Did Jerry Springer legitimately just sprain his ankle on RAW? He did curl into a ball awfully quick but I doubt they would have stayed on him getting medical treatment if he was seriously hurt. Plus, what the hell was the point of this segment when you held the exact same one last week? Sigh…

6. I don’t know who the Bunny is but that was a damn good superkick. One that I’ve seen Dolph Ziggler deliver but I seriously doubt they would reveal Ziggler as the Bunny.

7. A good show with a very good main event and angle to close the show. Unfortunately I definitely found myself checking my watch more than once when we hit the 3rd hour. Which sucks considering how hard Reigns, Orton and Rollins worked to close out the show. There was just too much on this show that could have been shortened or eliminated completely. It was just another show to fall victim to the 3-hour format.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

My (10) Thoughts: WWE RAW 9.1.14 (John Cena, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins) Tue, 02 Sep 2014 05:11:28 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

1~ I’m a bit disappointed that Jericho’s Highlight Reel immediately turned into the “clusterf*ck promo” segment that WWE’s been falling back to lately. I have no idea why they’re now threatening John Cena’s “contractually signed” rematch versus Brock Lesnar but something like this usually happens when something unexpected has come up. Is John Cena more injured than everyone really thought? Or are they now backpedaling from the destruction John Cena suffered at SummerSlam & now they think there needs to be more babyfaces in the match? I have no clue what they’re thinking about for Night Of Champions but it seems that things might be in flux.

2~ I’ve never wanted to see anyone wrestle more than Dolph Ziggler in that tag match. I guess that means The Miz is making this gimmick work but I was more interested in his new “makeup artist” than I was in seeing The Miz (or Damien Miz-Dow) get in the ring. I know it’s a long shot but how good would a program be between Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro if Cesaro won the US title & they had to unify the titles in a “best of seven” program?

3~ I don’t know how I feel the Nikki Bella videos. It definitely seems like a very passive aggressive way to hurt Brie in a way that she couldn’t respond. Yeah, yeah, it’s all fake and whatever you’d like to say but I liked being able to suspend my disbelief (at least a little bit) especially when Stephanie McMahon was involved.

4~ So are the Big Show & Mark Henry “The World’s Largest Tag Team” or is Mark Henry feuding with Rusev? I’d prefer them as a tag team than another pointless Rusev feud. Truly though, has anyone gained anything from facing Rusev? Hell, Jack Swagger moved from Rusev to BO DALLAS?! I can’t wait for someone to end this foreign experiment.

5~ Sorry Bo, Jack Swagger is no one’s favorite wrestler. He’s like the Aquaman of the WWE.

6~ Nikki Bella seems to Stephanie McMahon’s new poodle & giving her a Divas title match was like finding a new squeaky toy. Nikki’s promo are becoming higher and higher pitched & she needs to get that under control. As for the segment a whole, did it remind anyone else of the segment that opened the show? Yup, they just followed the exact same formula except the Divas Champion was actually involved. We’ve had some good and some bad tonight but these type of promos just bring my opinion of the show right down.

7~ Hey! Check out WWE promoting a match a whole week away! I’m so happy for them and hope they can continue down this fruitful path.

8~ It’s pretty damn awesome that Gold & Stardust have turned heel. The very first thing I thought of when I saw Stardust, I said “Damn, that’s creepy.” Goldust’s heel character may be a little rusty but Cody has been a heel for most of his career. He also has the experience performing as a creepy character if you think back to his plastic mask & paper bag days. That time was some of the best work Cody Rhodes has ever done. I think we’d be naïve to think that he’d be able to capture that magic again but hopefully we’ll get enough of it to make this feud interesting.

9~ Everything that has happened in this main event match is really backing up my theory that Cena may be more injured than anyone has reported. Sure he finally got his hot tag but then he couldn’t even make the cover and instead tagged out to Roman Reigns to hit the spear for the finish. Everything about that match seemed awkward and a little off. I don’t know, I could be seeing ghosts where there are none but I’m curious to see what happens to the Night Of Champions main event.

10. Damn, I know Widro would give me a hard time for not hitting 10 thoughts so instead I’ll include some new work done by our friend, Rob Schamberger:

My Thoughts: WWE RAW 8.25.14 (Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Bray Wyatt) Tue, 26 Aug 2014 03:05:57 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

1~ I really don’t have much to say about the opening segment. Yes, there were a few Legends in the ring but the end result was another “rah-rah” John Cena promo. You would think that there’d be a huge return and promo after the absolute destruction Cena suffered at SummerSlam. Guess not.

2~ Guess it’s a good sign that Cesaro is actually getting a championship program, even if it is for the title everyone forgets is still in existence. I just hope Cesaro and Sheamus can have a few stiff and entertaining matches.

3~ I don’t think anyone in WWE history could ever out-crazy again. And I think that Paige is the next victim of the wackjob.

4~ Roman Reigns versus Seth Rollins is perfectly timed. Reigns is at that time where you want to pull back his push just a tad bit so he doesn’t become oversaturated. And Seth Rollins needs another natural opponent that will distract him from cashing in the Money In The Bank briefcase. One or two pay-per-views would do these two good, especially is Rollins gets a win over Reigns at one point.

5~ A heel Goldust & Stardust could be interesting for a little while. At least until the next PPV and God knows the Usos needed a legitimate heel tag team to feud with.

6~ It’s scary how much better Brock Lesnar is in a pre-taped promo instead of a giving him a live mic. I don’t know if he needs numerous takes or gets coaching before every answer but whatever it is, it definitely works.

7~ WOW, I can honestly say I didn’t think Nikki had that heel character in her. While Brie’s faking crying was a little much but Nikki’s words (“I wish you had died in the womb!”) were harsh and deeply personal so I hope they knew what each other would say before they went out there. If this feud is going to continue with this type of an emotion, it might be a decent dog days of summer storyline.

8~ I loved seeing a different type of dominant John Cena but did have to be against Bray Wyatt? It could have easily have been against Luke Harper, Kane, Randy Orton or Seth Rollins where they wouldn’t have been hurt by looking weak. By sticking Wyatt in there, the mystique and unpredictably of his character were basically thrown out the window when all you have to do is hit him with some big moves & suddenly he can’t compete anymore.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250

My Thoughts: WWE RAW 8.11.14 (John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Hulk Hogan, Stephanie McMahon) Wed, 13 Aug 2014 01:14:54 +0000 WWE Raw Header - 2014

1~ I’d be remiss in not opening this article without drawing attention to the horrible suicide that happened today. The world lost a legend in Robin Williams to severe depression. Depression is real and is something I’ve only begun to deal with. I had to miss work from December 2013-February 2014 because I was learning how to manage it. I still struggle with it every single day & it certainly kicked up when I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia, plus they found a node on my lung. If I didn’t have my friends and family throughout this year, I don’t know what I would have done. Williams was obviously suffering from something that no one was going to be able to help him with and life just became too much. I understand it & hope that, if nothing else, his death brings more attention to depression sufferers and we’re not just brushed aside any longer.

2~ Sorry now back our regularly scheduled program. As far as the opening segment goes, that was by FAR the great Paul Heyman rap ever. Besides that I thought it was a lot of the same. It would have been the perfect time to mention that Brock Lesnar beat John Cena way back with Lesnar was the SmackDown champion and Cena was first making his name for himself. Instead we were subjected to the same footage and the same promo (except for the rap). I AM looking forward to see these two finally in the ring later in the shower. I just hope it isn’t a bait and switch.

3~ As awful as the Lumberjack Match stipulation is (why not a cage match?!?!?) and how campy Dean Ambrose jumping out of gift box was, I loved it. Yea it was cheesy and a little cliché but that’s exactly why it worked. You’d never think the Dean Ambrose character would wrap himself up in a gift box and yet here he comes. The Network plug-in his promo was a bit overkill but at least he tried to make it work.

4~ How awesome would it be if “Megan” turned out to be “Claire Lynch” ? Actually that couldn’t happen since TNA probably still has “Claire” under contract. Either way, this segment was as bad as expected. Although it did answer why Stephanie came out dressed in nurse’s scrubs.

5~ It wasn’t a lot but I liked the sitdown interview that Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt had. It was an unlikely format for both men as they usually thrive in front of a live crowd but I think that’s exactly why this segment worked. It was definitely a different way to go for Wyatt but both men were able to use their tone, word connotations and expressions to sell a match instead of the typical hype around a big match (Cena/Lesnar).

6~ It seems like everyone gets a bit excited when John Cena is able to enter his “intense & serious” mode and is able to let out some non-PG verbiage but it’s just going to end after SummerSlam. Whether he wins or loses at SummerSlam, the baseball cap wearing, bright red, K-Mart spokesperson will just be on TV the following week. This edgier Cena has never lasted longer than a month since he’s turned into this cartoon character and I don’t believe that will change anytime soon.

7~ Stephanie might run into some legal problems here when she was the one who invited that woman in the ring. How many times have we seen a wrestler or referee put the boots to a fan that was trying to get to the ring (Eddie Guerrero, anyone?) They never could press charges. At least the last arrest was actually dramatic.

8~ For a week of promotion, Hulk Hogan’s birthday celebration was basically a nice tribute video and a Scott Hall nostalgia promo before Brock Lesnar’s music hit to cue the birthday spoiler. Of course this just led to an awkward stare down until John Cena made his entrance for the more important stare down between the main event players at SummerSlam. Not too much special on tonight’s show & even worse considering it was the go-home show for SummerSlam.

Well, either way, former WWE writer Andrew Goldstein will be joining us live at 8 pm est on the HTC Wrestling Pulsecast to predict and debate our choices for SummerSlam.topstory120x120-×120-2013.jpg|topstory120x120 topstory500x250-×250-raw-2013.jpg|topstory500x250
